Holidays!! I can't

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Holidays!! I can't

Holidays!! I can't wait for them to start. My Mom's family is Jewish so I am mostly Jewish. My Dad 's family is Christian so I also celebrate Christmas.  Although I don't really like all the advertising.

(Admins, is it possible to get spellcheck?)

No, sorry. Everybuggy just has to learn to spell.

*giggles at Admin snark*

Christmas is Ruined Forever (in a good way) by Terry Pratchett and specifically Hogfather... Needless to say my friend who is a Discworld groupie like me is getting a soggy Happy Hogswatch card this year along with whatever gift I can afford. Everyone else is just getting Happy Hogswatch cards because they wouldn't get the joke if the cards are wet.

Death: ALBERT SAID THERE SHOULD BE SNOW ON IT, BUT IT APPEARS TO HAVE MELTED.

D'aw.

Anyway.

Lots of people are going to be getting Hogfather this year, too... Because it is a sweet Christmas story once one gets passed the creepy sociopath with the glass eye, of course.

Incidentally, I dunno about other browsers but Safari has a spellcheck built in (which is why, for the most part, everything I write is spelled correctly*

Admin gets cookies for having sense of humour.

And yes, Safari has spellcheck, for the record. Gramp's different but cool Mac does, for instance, so when I'm in Missouri everything suddenly becomes accurate. <3.

My family is Catholic and celebrates Christmas, which is fun. Regarding "commercialization"... meh. Yes, I s'pose everyone makes the holidays out to be a bit too glitzy. But then there are the people who *don't*, which is even more annoying. You know... the self-righteous type of people who use Christmas/holidays as an excuse to "give"... to charities, church, the poor, the food pantry... All that. I mean, please: if you're going to be nice, do it *all year long* instead of *just* at Christmas.

On a lighter note, Black Friday. Haha. Mom and I went out... those people are *crazy*.

Random recommended holiday reading: Holly Claus by Brittany... someone and A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

That was a bit choppy, but I'm a) low on sleep and b) hyperannoyed at my group for a religion class project... bwah... the best part of the holidays is Christmas vacation. ;)

My mom makes Sicillian fig cookies, snowballs, brownies, chocolate chip, Chinese chews, and maybe a couple others. There are others in our family, including thumbprints, wreaths, and those chocolate coconut thingamabobbers. Possibly a couple others.

To anyone who's got a mac, you just have to do SHIFT, SEMI COLON, and COMMAND all at the same time, and spell check should show up.  :)

@Coco:  I'm a Protestant so I celebrate Christmas and Advent.  Did you know alot of Christian Churches don't celebrate Christmas because alot of the practices are pegan!?

@Ali K.:  Oh gosh!  We don't eat alot of special Christmas junk except for a brekfast we make that's a breakfast burrito except in Casserole style.  Um!  I can't believe the new Christmas dessert wave is putting bacon in brownies!  Isn't that just the most disgusting (I want to say something else but I won't put it.  It has vom in the first word) thing you ever heard of?! ~wipes tounge of with a cloth for even thinking about it.~

Every Christmas we make Kolaches (I think that's how it's spelled). They're a Czech food, and are soo good! They're like a sweet bread with yummy fruit filling.
