Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Ok, so I know everyone has been wanting a search bar for chatterbox so that they can find threads. Well, I think some of you probably know this, but if you go to google and search the information, it will find the thread for you. For example, I googled "cricket chatterbox candle easy stickers" and it found it for me. You have to type cricket chatterbox though of course.

Aw, that's too bad... but in some ways, it's good.  There's some pretty weird/creepy/disgusting stuff out there.  Not to mention computer viruses from bad sites, or even good sites that have been hacked.  (I was once looking up B&Bs, but then this weird thingy showed up saying something about doing something before I could continue, but I didn't trust it, so I had my dad look at it, and he noticed a lot of stuff was misspelled, and it was all very strange, so he got rid of it, and called the people who run the hotel to tell them their site was hacked, and they were very grateful, and shut down their site to fix it, and told us about another B&B that was just as nice, in the same area)  (sorry if that was confusing)

I always use the safe search setting on my google image searches, because people always put REALLY inappropriate stuff on there.  :(

Yay! I found some of my old threads on DtE!!!  it's a lot easier than going through it, searching... searching... searching.  It's also a lot faster.  but it is scary...

That is cool/weird!  Now I can find all my threads! :)  Well, my question in my old 'newcomer thread' is answered.  Thanks, Candle!  But now I'm glad I use my leafy pseudonym! ;)

And Laura, yeah, I was googling fast and easy Christmas presents and I clicked on this one site and this thing popped up that said I had a virus.  It looked really fishy, because I knew I didn't so I called my dad over and he said it was just fake.  So yeah, the internet can be kinda scary, but it's soooo helpful!!  Especially for finding dying threads! :D

I never thought to put symbols in my name, but that's a good idea, Laura

I guess I shouln't be surprised at the insane powers of Google, but I'd kinda thought that the Chatterbox was invisible to it. But like you say, it will make finding stuff a lot easier, and probably no one else would even know the Chatterbox existed, or if they did, wouldn't think to look here for information about us. So yeah, privacy invasion isn't that much of a problem, especially if we're using pseudonyms. It's way better than, say, Facebook or Myspace.

Although I just tried searching my name (and city, to cut out all the random Irish people with the same name as me) on Google, and the only thing it shows about me is that I won the concerto competition at the local youth orchestra. My Facebook doesn't show up at all, even if I specifically search for it. But I don't know if that's because Facebook accounts in general don't show up on Google, or because I set my privacy settings so that I wouldn't show up on a search of Facebook. (/random interesting-but-useless info)
