Therians, Otherkins, and Furries

I've recently discovered therians, and what they are, and was wondering if we have anybody in the therian community here on the CB? I'm not, myself (that I know of, although I do love cats bunnies and feel...connected to them, somehow), nor do I have friends that are otherkin, therians, or furries (sadly, most of my friends except for a few would be quite weirded out by them :<)--but I love watching therian jump videos online! They're honestly very satisfying and calming to watch, and I love watching people from the therian community make their masks. I've actually been wanting to make my own mask (for fun, not because I'm a therian), because of how intricate and cool they look.

Now that I think of it, starting a shop for therians/otherkins/furries wouldn't be a bad idea, because some therians/otherkins are closeted and can't come out to their parents--what do you guys think?

(For those of you that want to make your own masks--you can buy the mask bases at places like your local crafts store--or so I've been told! The tails are harder, though, and you usually can find those at festivals and places like that.)

Reminder: I am not a therian, otherkin, or furry (that I know of), but I do support them and believe that everyone has a purpose for being who they are and a reason for who they are--and if that person is a therian or otherkin or furry--then that is alright! <3

i'm otherkin but too scared to say on here. technically it's more complex than that though 

also if you feel connected to cats and bunnies in a deeper way than just liking them, you might be otherhearted!

also, to be clear, alterhumanity (so therians and otherkin, as well as otherhearted and otherlink and copinglink (which is when someone chooses to have an alterhuman identity) and plenty of other things) is an identity and you don't have to make masks or anything like that in order to be alterhuman. but that sort of stuff is really fun, wish I could.

I'm don't, but I'm pretty sure Lunar Flight (an old CBer, haven't seen them around over a year) identified as a furry/therian/something similar. I don't really remember but if you dig through the Confessions thread you might be able to find something...

I'm not alterhuman or a furry, but I guess I'm what you could call an adjacent to both of those. I used to consider myself a member of the furry fandom, but now I consider myself a furry friend and fursuit maker. I love making animal and animal-based art and cosplay, and I've made several partial fursuits and dino masks, and am a member of the furry and alterhuman community at my school (there are probably some furries and alterhumans at your school too, they're good at hiding but there's more than you'd think), but I'm not as into the particularly anthropomorphic animal stuff and while I don't believe for an instant that the reputation furries have is true for all of even that many of them, I don't like introducing myself as a furry online and being immediately associated with it. I'm happy to answer more questions about what any of the terms mean if anybody wants to know. I'm going by the name "Tomato" here cause it's the code word my friend and I use for "furry" or "fursuit" at school when we want to talk about furry stuff but don't want people getting the wrong idea about us.
