Do you need

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Do you need

Do you need something fun to do? Are you bored of the monotony of life? Are you scrolling aimlessly through the CB looking for something vivid, captivating, grand?

Well, here is a story unfolding in the depths of the Inkwell... a story of an ancient country and the battles tearing it apart, of the characters - some brave, some villainous, all captivating - fighting their way through it, each trying to find a path; of animals and humans, magical beings, kings, nobles, everyone, whether in palaces or forests or inns, each a part of a story that has been continuing for many years. It is Kyngdom.

"But I don't want to commit to an RP!" you say.

That's all right! There are many other ways to be a part of the glittering history of Kyngdom. Stay tuned to learn how...

Okay, here are the ways to join Kyngdom other than by being part of an RP! They're all really fun and creative; hope you enjoy them!

1. Go to the Myths and Legends thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-new/node/205679 This is essentially the main worldbuilding thread for Kyngdom; here you can contribute to the famous Book of Myths and Legends. Kyngdom is already rich and varied, both culturally and geographically, but there's always room for more. If you feel like creating a mysterious small town, or making up a legend about a particular mountain, or deciding what styles of architecture are prevalent in one area or another, or going all-out and creating a new ethnic group with its own language, mythology, and culture, this is the place! Anything goes, even if it's just a small detail. You don't have to interact with anyone, it takes very little time, and it's a direct way to help create the country of Kyngdom. And the thread really needs more entries - since Kyngdom was revived, it's only gotten a few posts. It's also a very interesting thread to read through and helps spark future ideas for RPs and so on.

2. If you enjoy drawing, post some art on the Art Thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom/node/221256 You can draw your own ideas, or have a look through the Who's Here or the Ultimate Guide for ideas of characters and places to draw. A warning: there is a very frightening picture on one of the first pages. I don't rememeber exactly where it is, but if you'd rather not bump into it inadvertently, I wouldn't recommend having a look through the thread.

3. Hop over the the Kyngdom Live Chat: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom/node/282865?page=22 A clarification: this thread is not, sadly, being used as an actual live chat. However, it's the place to discuss all things Kyngdom-related, so if you have a plot or worldbuilding idea that you want to talk about with other Kyngdomers, it can be put to good use here! All ideas are much appreciated, as there aren't too many of us right now :)

4. If you have a question about Kyngdom, you can use a Kyngdom festival thread or just ask on the Kyngdom Q and A: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom/node/211357 Or there's this thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/571066

5. Post a character on the Who's Here thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-new/node/196649 It's like a dictionary of all the different characters who have participated in Kyngdom over the years. If you're not joining an RP, it could be a character who has to do with something you've posted on the Myths and Legends thread, for example, or just anyone! There's a fun form to fill out, if that's any motivation :) If you don't want to go to the length of creating a detailed character, use this thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/puddingsplace/node/570773 and go from there!

If you want to use a character further, not just make random posts on the main threads, you can do that as well:

1. Write about your character on the Journals thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-rp/node/565265 You can have fun there telling your charries' stories, whenever and however you want, without making a time commitment. You can do much the same thing in short-story format rather than journal format, on Rainbow Riot's Stories of Kyngdom thread: https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-rp/node/498051 It can be as long as you want, whether an in-depth exploration of someone's backstory or just a few paragraphs describing daily life.

2. Join an RP, but don't have your charries interact with anyone; just have fun writing from their pov and following the action of the main plot. Specify beforehand that you don't have the time to have your charrie interact, so it's clear, and do stick to the main plot and action; other than that, go wild! That's pretty much what I've been doing on the Nobyl RP, which is a good place to start; it encompasses various storylines, none of which are really intersecting at the moment. In fact, Amethyst and pangolin are the only ones active there rn :/ The Traveler's RP could also be a good place to begin.

3. Start an RP! You're under no obligation to join it, and it'll provide an interesting storyline for other Kyngdomers and quite probably have a profound effect on the history of Kyngdom.

If you do decide you want to commit fully to an interactive RP, there are RPs outside the main board; there's the Perform at Bog and Burrow (https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/kyngdom-new/node/211392) or the Kyngdom Groups.

I think that's it! I'll post more stuff if I think of any :) Have fun, enjoy creating Kyngdom, and prepare to be swept away by its vitality! Hope to see you around!
