TEETH THREAD! Hi!

TEETH THREAD! Hi!

TEETH THREAD! Hi! This is a thread where we talk (or type) about teeth. For example: Teeth is a song. Anyways, I just got my second tooth pulled out. Luckily, one of my adult teeth didn't grow in so I don't have to get another two taken out. A few more things.

1) Are you afraid of the dentist? I sometimes am. But I have a female dentist so it's not so scary.

2) Are you getting any teeth pulled out? If so, it doesn't hurt. It only hurts when they put in the numbing stuff. It's either that, or the bigger pain of feeling your tooth pulled out.

3) Teeth is by Lady GaGa. Go figure.

Laterz!

I am happy that I am going to keep my wisdom teeth, and I've only ever gotten like one cavity, and since I had a little retainer thing a few years ago, I don't even need braces!

1) Yes, I'm afraid of the dentist. Isn't everybody? ;-)

2) I don't have to have any teeth pulled out. Yay!

3) I've had nightmares where all my teeth come out.

4) This is a fantastic thread!

I have crooked teeth and it bothers me much.  I want braces really badly so they'll be straight before I graduate, but my mom still hasn't scheduled an orthodontist apointment.  So in the mean time, I'm learning to smile with my mouth closed.  I'm really bad at it.  And for some reason I never lost my upper canines, so I have to get them pulled.  Ugh.  Do they put you to sleep before they pull teeth?  I REALLY hope they do.  Maggie said they do, but some other people I know said they don't.  Of course, if the Novacane really works and kills all the pain, then I'm okay with that because I've had that stuff before.

Yay, teeth! *feels geeky*

1. No. Usually they're rather funny, and it's fun to make them cringe by popping my jaw extra loud like.

2. No, but I had my wisdom teeth out in... what? September? And you're right. It took maybe fifteen minutes per tooth (45 total as I only had three) and the worst part was getting Novacain'd in the top jaw. The only part of the procedure that hurt was when they did the one next to the tooth that had the root canal because the abscess hadn't quite healed, and the pressure... but that was minimal. And there was hardly any swelling. Wisdom teeth are overrated.

3. Never heard of it, or her. *shrug*

@ ZNZ: Thanks!

@ Kenzie: It depends on where your getting your teeth pulled out. (I think) I got the needle. And when they started pulling my tooth out, I started singing. *cringe* Or humming-with-mouth-open sort of thing. But the good thing was I got to skip school for an entire day. TWICE. (two teeth got pulled, one day at a time) And I got to have buckets of ice cream after. :-P Laterz! *Alexa says Hi*

1) Are you afraid of the dentist? Not really anymore, but I used to be terrified of it.

2) Are you getting any teeth pulled out? Not planning to!! But the last time I was at the orthadontist they said that if my upper 12year molars don't start coming in soon that they would have to do something to them. But my upper right one is coming in! yay! Finally when I'm 14, my 12 year molars are coming in!

How long does everybuggy else brush at night? I brush for about 30 minutes, but then flossing takes a while because of my braces, and then there's mouthwash, washing my face and brushing my hair. So all together it takes about 45 minutes.

i would be careful brushing for that extended period of time... you could end up wearing away the protective enamal on your teeth, which makes you much more likely to get cavities.

I love the title of this thread. I have braces on all my teeth (Argh!!), I have had two cavities, but I am never going to have one again, and I have had five teeth pulled. *wince* Yeah. They gave me those teeth, actually, they were pretty big, and they had huuuge roots so it took forever to pull each one. I planted them, hoping to grow a candle like in What the Dickens (great book, also, by Gregory Macguire, author of Wicked.), but so far there are no signs of any wicks sprouting out of the ground.

Cool! I have a question. This probably doesn't sound very intellectual but, do they pull out the teeth with cavities? Oh yeah, they just give them fillings right? Opps. Olive says Hi!

Yeah, you just get a filling if you are unfortunate enough to acquire a cavity. I think I prefer tooth pulling to cavity filling.

Yes, I am terrified of going to the dentist, mainly because there was a period of time when I was about six to seven where thety would discover one or two cavities in my teeth every time I went there, which would then have to get fillings. The worse part about fillings, in my opinion, was the needle thing they used to make your mouth go numb, which HURTS SO BAD.

I have had two teeth pulled, actually, and another one hitched a ride. It was loose, and just sort of came out. Haha.

Andy says tzga. Andy, you have been talking in gibberish lately.

I LOVE LADY GAGA'S SONG TEETH!  (and pretty much every other song she's got.)

As for other teeth related issues... all I can really say is that I would rather go to the doctor than the dentist... I positively detest the teeth cleaning/sanding process they do.  Leaves my teeth tingling for hours.  Plus any profession that requires the use of such twisted implements as those teeth pickers (which bear an awfully canny resemblance to medieval torture devices) is not meant to be pleasant in my book.

1. No, but I agree with Tempest.

2. No.

@Hannah: WHAT? 30 minutes? Wow, I only brush mine for 2!
