Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

I've been thinking

I've been thinking I want to change my Cricket name. But to what, exactly? Hmm..... maybe Kaulitz? (That name has meaning for me... it is a German surname, and the singer and guitarist of Tokio Hotel [who are twins] have it. I also named my guitar Kaulitz, because the guitarist is my IDOL. So, there's your background. XD) What do you guys think?

Kaulitz is a nice name. But why do you want to change your name at all?

Well thank you. ;) I've always liked the name, and I guess I'm just getting sick of Elizabeth, for many MANY reasons, one of them being that there are too many Elizabeths that I know, and we all get mixed up (as well as other things, ha), and another reason to do with a boy I know, but I'm not going to get into that. XD I think part of the reason is that my whole life I've been Elizabeth, and when people hear that and then find out what I look like, they just assume that I'll be some boring, uptight girl from... I dunno, Greenland, or something. So, it's kinda about just changing what people think of me when they see me, and also I'm just ready for change. =)

Sure! You can change your name to Kaulitz; I like the way it sounds. I wonder what it means. I looked it up on Behind The Surname, but it wasn't there. We don't know what you look like, though, only what you are like, so we are technically completely unable to judge you based on appearance here, luckily.

I plan to change my name here in May or June.

@ Mattie: What about one of the names you've already used in previous posts? I liked them a lot, especially Silmarie and Fool of a Took.

Aetc says r(a)nch! Or is it (w)r(e)nch?

@Ima.  Thanks! I kinda had a hunch the LotR stuff  would be popular.....I loved the Fool of a Took.  I love Pippin.

I've thought about changing my name on here, too. I have a couple of nicknames that I can choose from, but I'm not sure. I really like the name Kaulitz, though. I think you should use it!!!

@Clair and @Ima: Thanks for saying you like the name! =) Apparently Kaulitz is a rare last name (hee hee), but I found this on the Tokio Hotel America site. (I didn't write this, just a quote.)

"The origin of the Tokio Hotel frontman’s surname is not completely
clear. It might come from the name of a Slavic town, originally perhaps
Kovalovica or Kovalici. These names contain the Slavic word koval
(blacksmith), well known from the Polish surname Kowalski, one of the
most common Polish family names. However, if the family comes from the
former East Prussia, which I don’t know, it will be based on a Baltic
name – the Lithuanian káulas (meaning bone, leg, stone, the stone in
stone fruit) – with an added Slavic suffix -itz."

So, maybe? I'm not quite sure, but who knows. =)

@Clair: You should be Clare de Lune, like the musical composition. =D

Personally I don't really like the name Kaulitz... No Offence :) I would do something more fantasy like one of the names of the Greek Gods( Artemis, Athena) But that's just me :)

That's okay. ;) Not everyone does, ha. But see what I mean about tons of Elizabeths? There's been an Elizabeth H. here too.... but OMG, you're from Germany? I've always wanted to go there. The German language is so fascinating. =)

@Clare: Really? Gosh, I'll have to think of more. =S

Yeah, Charlotte and I don't get along... I think it's mainly to do with the fact that I'm pursuing music as my career, not writing, like she wants me to....

Omg, I was just reading about how many Elizabeths there were and it's kinda funny cause people always think my name is Elizabeth but it's actually pronounced ELZ-BETH. It takes some people forever to say it right...haha yeah just thought that was kinda cool, how there are so many Elizabeths and then me........

That's a really cool name, I think I've heard it before. =) People think your name is pronounced Elizabeth, people think my name is spelled with an S. ;) I kid you not, my own aunt spells it like that.
