Hey, everybuggy, we're thinking about making a digital version of Cricket magazine and we'd love to hear what you think!

—Do you use a tablet or a smartphone?
—If so, what kind (iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Color/Tablet, iTouch, iPhone, Droid, other)?
—Is it your own device or a shared family device?
—Do you read books or magazines on it?
—How interested would you be in reading Cricket on it?
—Do you have any other comments you’d like to make about a digital edition of Cricket?

Thanks & we really appreciate your helpful feedback!

Would this replace the real Cricket magazine because I wouldn't be able to read it anymore... :(

Oh, no! It would just be in addition to the printed magazine.

—Do you use a tablet or a smartphone? Yes
—If so, what kind (iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Color/Tablet, iTouch, iPhone, Droid, other)? Kindle
—Is it your own device or a shared family device? My brother and I share it.
—Do you read books or magazines on it? Books, yes
—How interested would you be in reading Cricket on it? I don't actually subscribe to Cricket right now, but if the digital version costs less, as digital versions usually do, I'd consider subscribing. It'd also be excellent because I wouldn't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail.
—Do you have any other comments you’d like to make about a digital edition of Cricket? I've a question: Are other magazines in the Cricket Magazine Group (like Muse, which I subscribe to) thinking about this as well, or only Cricket?

I don't know right now, Ima, but if I hear anything about the other mags I'll try to let you know.

Ima and everybuggy else, I've just been told by our Webmaster that we're looking into digitalizing all our magazines, but it will take time to do it. We can't do it all at once and have not decided which magazines will be first or when it will happen, but we will work on the magazines for older young people (that's not an oxyomoron!) first. Stay tuned. . . .

I'm not really qualified to answer this since I just quit getting Cricket for Muse... but the answer would still have been no.

I do not use a tablet or smartphone, but I know that if I did, it would be nice to have a digital version.  It would be easy to access Cricket anytime and would take up much less room.  I know that this doesn't answer your questions, but I thought I'd just give you my feedback.

Please let us know how this advances and thank you for considering this option.

Thanks, Leaf. I'm sure we'll post updates on Chatterbox.

I personally don't have a tablet or any of that and I believe in reading things on paper (unless I'm on the CB!!! :D) But it makes sense.

no

no

don't have one

I would if I had one

That would be really cool!!!...If I had one.   Maybe I can borrow my Dad's.

Could you get the digital version on the Kindle app on a computer?

I have no smartphone/tablet/item.

So I guess all of these shall be marked as "Not Applicable".

~About a digital edition- that would be AMAZING! My subscription ran out, and I haven't been getting around to renewing it (ah, middle school! Don't you just LOVE random scheduling meetings?) so I think this would be very good for people.

Chickuu says emrz.

1. I do use a tablet, an iPad, but in a few months I lose it.

2. iPad

3. It is my device to use, though my school owns it.

4. I read very many books on it. Often in the wee hours of the morning. I have (as of yet) been unable to find any magazines that I like that are available.

5. I would be very interested in reading Cricket on it.

6. Not really.

—Do you use a tablet or a smartphone? Yes.
—If so, what kind (iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Color/Tablet, iTouch, iPhone, Droid, other)? iPod touch
—Is it your own device or a shared family device? Mine! Yay!
—Do you read books or magazines on it? Sometimes, on the Kindle app.
—How interested would you be in reading Cricket on it? Pretty interested, as long as it still had good pictures and all the content the paper version had, didn't cost too much, and was easy to update, with alerts when the newest issue came out.
—Do you have any other comments you’d like to make about a digital edition of Cricket? If you make this, please make it easy to read, and maybe make it so that you can renew a paper Cricket subscription digitally.

—Do you use a tablet or a smartphone? Yes.

—If so, what kind (iPad, Kindle Fire, Nook Color/Tablet, iTouch, iPhone, Droid, other)?
Kindle Touch

—Is it your own device or a shared family device?
All mine... muahahaha!

—Do you read books or magazines on it?
Only books, but I don't get any other magazines besides Cricket.

—How interested would you be in reading Cricket on it?
That would by awesome!!

—Do you have any other comments you’d like to make about a digital edition of Cricket?
I think it would be really good for the environment because it uses less paper. Also, would you be able to renew digitally? Because that would be so much easier.

I have (and use) a Kindle. It's not technically a tablet, but it's my own and I use it mostly to read books. I would love to be able to access Cricket on it; I'm guessing I'd read twice as many of the stories if it was available that way. I know it wouldn't be easy to put a magazine into the basic greyscale format of a normal Kindle, but it's a thought. I'm a huge fan of this idea.
