And I am known as a crazy cat lady to all my friends :) I used to sign off like this:

but I tired of that recently.

Message from OTC: "medm" Medium... or maybe something about you, Melody?

Hi! I'm new, too. I love to read and write, and I really like Cricket. I hope this turns out to be a fun site for both of us.

Welcome, Olivecube. We have an Olive here, but I assume you and she are not the same person.

Hi, Olivecube! I have a lot of hobbies...... reading, writing, scrapbooking, soccer, singing, Cricketing (anything that has to do with Cricket), daydreaming, etc. , etc.

Anyway, I hope I'll be consistent enough, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only newbie...

Oh, and don't forget that I love pickles............

Hey Amelia and Olivecube! (awesome names by the way, both of you) I'm Olive. I'm one of a few Canadians here and I'm known for Tim Horton's. Which is like a cheaper, Canadian version of Starbucks.

Hey! I'm the resident Tolkien geek, harried writer and high school student, Enya/Connie Dover/Riverdance/Celtic Woman fanatic, and...rambler.  Oh, speaking of rambling, have you met TNO? No? Oh, that's right, you're new.  Well, TNO is eighteen, a freshman at Cornell, and writes the longest comments in the history of the Cricket universe!!!!!  We're talking pages and pages here.  Pages of incredibly fascinating stuff...if only I had time to read it...*wistful sigh*

See, I told you I was the resident rambler.  Did you see how I got off-topic there! I'd better stop before I become a threat to humanity.  Well,  I kinda already am.  But I will make a conscious effort and not go into that.

Oh, and welcome!  Welcome! Wilkommen! (I speak a little German.)  You will have the greatest fun here; I hope you enjoy it.  Immensely.  (Does that mean that I immensely hope that you wiill enjoy it or that I hope that you will immensely enjoy it?)

Welcome, again, and I. Will. Stop. Now.

Hi, Mattie!  I get rambly when I'm hyper.....and trust me when I say that that is often!!!

I'v read The Hobbit and totally LOVED it, and REALLY CAN'T WAIT TILL THE MOVIE COMES OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh, and I'm in the middle of The Fellowship of the Ring, and my family owns all the movies.  Trust me, I believe that Tolkien was one of the smartest people aliveSmile, but in LOTR, it gets sort of drooowwwsy.......

Anyway, I know that it's not the book, but it's probably just 'cause I'm in Middle School and books that huge still seem a little OMINOUS, if you know what I mean..........

Oh, and I think I've heard of TNO, maybe.

Anyway, kangaroo hopping over and out the door!

Oh, Tolkien was brilliant.  Brilliant!  A genius!  I think it's fascinating that Middle Earth was his life work, something he started as a young man and never really completed...he was always caught up in the minutia.  Like, when there were still glaring inconsistencies in Elven lines of descent, he was agonizing over the implications of a single word.  Augh!  Tolkien was a linguist, really- that was his profession, and Middle Earth was founded on an imaginary language that was very long in the making...when he was a teenager, he had his 'nonsense fairy language.'  And then it became Sindarin, and Quenya....  But it's not just the langauage that is the core of Middle Earth- it's the Christian spirituality as well...

As for LotR being slow, well, that' san inconvenient truth.  But hey!  That's his style!  I can deal with that!
