Chatterbox: Crowd Sorcery

Sneak Preview 2!

Sneak Preview 2!

Some of the villains you created on Crowd Sorcery will be featured in the September issue of Cricket! Click on the page below to see a bigger version.

We will be featuring Sidekicks in October. A few more of your villains will be included in the September digital edition, which you can download for your iPad or other tablet.

Once again, all of your characters were really creative and wonderful. The ones featured in the magazine were selected by the admins and editors to give readers a sense of the variety of characters Chatterboxers have created.

Thanks to everyone! We hope to see more Fantasy Dictionary entries from you soon!

Mother! Stop meddling in my affairs! This is my buisness!

While I remember to post this, I'd like to ask a question.

Is the object in Aciere's hand a glowglobe, perhaps? (One of the items I submitted for the fantasy dictionary thread... That's what it was called, right?)

If it is, that made my day. If it isn't, it's still an interesting detail!

Speaking of the fantasy dictionary, how much of it will be used in the story ?

Wow, guys, this is amazing. I'm sorry I didn't get to participate! I didn't see the crowd-sorcery thing in my Cricket magazine. Fantastic, guys! I especially love Margaret and Aciere.

Hi, Indigo--

I think your question got answered in another thread, right? :-) If not, the answer is, as many of the words as possible! I don't know for sure yet, but I'm trying to work in at least 2 or 3 Fantasy Dictionary words per part of the story, and usually more. And the story will be in at least 4 parts!

And just to remind everyone: you can still post new words in Fantasy Dictionary, and they MIGHT still make it into the story!

Hi Elise L.,

I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to reply to your comments. I've been hard at work on illustrations for Crowd Sorcery. I hope you see this after all this time.

I'm happy to know you're happy I drew Aciere! To answer your question, I liked her–that's why I drew her! I liked that she's a sort of steampunk cyborg. And I really like cyborgs. Thanks for submitting such a cool character!

That is a glowglobe! When I started sketching her, I wanted Aciere to be holding something in her hand since she's a scientist and inventor. I found your fantasy items in the dictionary and thought the glowglobe would be perfect.

Cyborgs are the best, to be honest. Steampunk is also pretty great, so I'm glad we share tastes on that.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post out-of-site links on here - but here goes. I drew (more like scribbled, if we're being realistic here) Aciere, and I felt like posting it here. Unfortunately, she fell to one strange problem I have... Which is that even if I was the one who designed the character, I can't figure out how their hair works. (One particular character of mine is the prime example of this - their hair changes every time I draw them. Does it flip out in front? To the side? No one knows.)

But! Back on topic, here is the link to my little doodle. I was too lazy to change the blue lines to a more traditional black, oops.

Hope you (or anyone else who's lurking around here) enjoy!

Sorry, Elise, we're not allowed to post links.

in my opinion, Maximus was a rather good villain.

I'm glad to hear everyone has been enjoying the character sketches!

I think I may have said this on another post, but it's worth repeating: everyone's character submissions were so well-written and interesting that it was difficult for me to narrow down which characters to draw. If I had the time I would draw every single one!

Thanks again to all of you for participating!

I LOVED the illustration of Margaret. The only problem with her not being the villain is that we will see no more of them. :(
