Did you know that when President J.F.K was in Germany he tried to say he was from Berlin (to show union) and he ended up saying "I am a jelly dougnut."!! Isn't that funny?!

Welcome to the Chatterbox, Jelly Doughnut! :)

When did Kennedy discover his mistake? Did the Berlin people just start cracking up and someone had to nudge him and say: 'Uh...you made a mistkae?'

You always see thing like that on TV where they are trying to say something in a different language but end up saying something totally different.  I never heard of someone doing it for real!  Giggle..."I'm a jelly doughnut".  They must of tried really hard not to laugh at that.

I went to Germany last year and it was really fun. The actual way that you say "I'm a jelley donut" in german is this: Ich bein ein berliner! Bekah, Ich heighs Koffee, und Ich leib spezis! (translation: Bekah, my name is Koffee, and i love spezis! Spezis are a German drink that is made when you combine Coke and Fanta. Yummy!) My Grandmother grew up in Germany during the Holocauste and I'm always fascinated by anything that is from there. Are there any other German's out there?

In BaB, there's a thread made by Jonathan (I don't remember what it was called...), where we all started babbling in German.  It was actually quite funny. :D I think he's German.  Maybe.  :D:D:D

Oh, I forgot: The way that you would say I am from Berlin is actually very similar to Ich bein ein berliner. You know, Berlin, Berliner? I'm not actually sure how the correct grammar to say I am from Berlin would sound, but I know that it is really close to I'm a jelly donut!
