Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Happy Pi day

Happy Pi day everyone!!!

∏, or pi, is a symbol representing the number pi, which goes on infiniatly, but here are just a few of the didgets:

3.14159265359

I personaly only know three didgets of pi, 3.14.

Don't forget to eat some pie!

{ Sing to song "Friday" : "I't pie day! Pie Day! Gotta multiply 3.14! Everybody's looking forward to March 14th!"}

Happy Pi Day to you too! Did you know it is also Albert Einstein's birthday? What a coincidence!

Although the wonderful math whiz known as Vihart has converted me to tau-is-the-answer-to-everything, I still celebrate pi day. Because tau isn't a delicious dessert food. And although tau technically equals two pi, meaning twice as much pie as usual, that doesn't come until June 28th. And I really like pie.

Tau= 6.283185307179586476925286676559005678394338798750211...

That's all I know, because that's how many digits the Tau Song covers. And I did it from memory. I cannot do the same for pi.

I realized I was wearing a shirt TODAY that says Pie for Strength...

oops.

I'm also a Tau supporter, convinced by ViHart and the Numberphile Pi vs. Tau Smackdown.

And I have a seven-year pen that has the Pi symbol and the first several digits, and I didn't use it yesterday!  I'm so mad at myself.

Fun fact: To remember the digits of pi, I have to listen to the Einstein bobbleheads from Night at the Museum two recite it in my head.

This is kind of random, but my sister's birthday is Pi Day. She's twenty now.
