Hey Admin! How

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hey Admin! How

Hey Admin! How do you do? I know you are online cause I have magic powers that tell me...

Okay, I don't. I just notice comments are being posted. So this thread is for casually asking the Admins casual questions. For example:

1. Admin, do you play video games? If so which ones and on which systems or consoles?

2. Admin, what color is your hair?

3. Admin, what was the last book you read?

4. Admin, are you online?

Well, we already know the answer to the fourth, but Admin, what are your answers to the other three?

This thread is part of my ongoing effort to connect with the Admins. I believe that making this effort may help me to understand more when they censor one of my posts, as well as other benefits.

1. No

2. Brown

3. Light a Little Lamp by Elsie Reif Ziegler, aunt of one of my neighbors. It's about the Great Chicago Fire.

Joe the Stickfildder, why are you so obsessed with the Admins? I mean, it's great to know them and everything, but somehow I can't connect them with anything other than the "kindly librarian" I mentioned once before, or benign school teachers. Plus, they ARE adults, and this is a website for kids/tweens/teens and the occasional college student. It's always nice to read their responses to posts and everything, but we don't need to be "friends" with the Admins, do we? I mean, kindness and everything is good, but as far as I can tell, you seem to be more annoyed and angry with them than anything else.

All I'm saying is, I've got nothing against the Admins; I think they are here to keep the posts sane so this site is readable for the younger readers, as well as those of us who have younger siblings reading over our shoulders. What they edit out is up to their discretion. If you don't like what they edit out, then don't send it in to begin with. It's that simple.

Whatever. If the Admins are supposed to be faceless, they shouldn't talk to us at all, so we have no idea that they even exist and just assume that our posts are processed by a very very slow webscript, and any edits made in our texts or posts that are entirely deleted are merely the results of glitches in the program that cannot be fixed (or the programmers have no time to fix them) and must just be accepted as quirks of the CB, like the way threads go straight to the bottom every time they recieve their first post and cannot be topped until comments get to be posted again.

Aside from the "connecting with the Admins" part, it's just somewhat interesting. Admin, what is a dessert that you are good at making and make often for special occasions?

Scotcheroos (rice krispies bars with peanut butter, chocolate, and butterscotch)

Pecan pie (but don't make often because too rich and unhealthy)

Well, if they were that faceless, then people wouldn't try not to post the sorts of things the admins wouldn't want, which would make their jobs way more difficult because they'd have more stuff to remove.

I think it's a nice idea to try and connect with Admins some!

Admins, do you ever get a real kick out of, or laugh over, some of the stuff we write?

Oh, yes! Occasionally I even laugh out loud to myself.
