Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Pacifism, right or

Pacifism, right or wrong?

Okay. I am NOT a pacifist. I like peace. Peace is great. But sometimes war is necessary, if you know that someone is doing something evil and you can only stop it with war. "But, Kalyna!" you might say. "Peaceful negotiations!" But that was tried in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the World Wars. It didn't work. Your thoughts?

P.S. Admin, this isn't disrespectful, is it? Cuz, for some reason, my Mary Poppins post dissappeared and I don't want this to.

My disrespectful capthca says oggi. As in "oh, gee, Kalyna."

Mary Poppins may have just flown to one of the back pages. I remember posting it.

I think a discussion of peace and war is a good idea, as long as people are respectful to others, even if they disagree with a comment.

Peace would be preferable because the sooner we get our planet to cooperate the sooner we can find extraterrestrial life.

Wow, this is an old thread. Kalyna and Maggie, are you still here? If so, here's what I think. I believe that the world would be kind of boring if everyone was happy and everything was peaceful all the time. Would activists be remembered if this was so? And what about artists who express their anger at the world through music and drama and paintings and dance and writing? Still, peace is good. I think that everyone's goal in life should be to create peace in the world. But, unfortunately, not everyone has the same view of what that looks like.
