No. You guys

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

No. You guys

No. You guys really just don't understand how much of a terrible person I am. I am stupid(or at least not as smart as I need to be) and I am selfish, unbelievably so, and I am rarely nice, only sarcastic, because when I'm nice is when I'm at my weakest. And I'm not talented at all. Not at anything. I have very few friends because I am, quite simply, not that likable.

I don't know how to explain to my mom that
-I can only talk to people about my depression in real life if I trust them. Counselors don't work for me because I don't trust them. So talking to internet strangers (while not particularly healthy) is a good way for me, specifically, to deal with my depression.
-I can and do interact with people in real life. If I didn't want to interact with people in real life, I wouldn't.
-Talking to people on the phone is awkward, which is why I hate it.
-Some of my friends (like my friend Nadia) I don't have classes with, so texting is basically one of the only ways I can communicate with her, and when I do get to talk to her in real life it's really awkward.
-tumblr is actually a good coping skill for me regardless of how healthy it may or may not be.

Maggie, I know that people think that way about themselves at one point, and it's perfectly normal!

Never call yourself a terrible person. It's never true if you don't want it to be. If you bring yourself down and convince yourself that you're dumb, then you'll be that way. Just why do you think you're selfish and unlikeable? If you don't wish to be that way, then try your hardest to fix that. Try being generous, smile. And don't talk about how bad you think you are.

You do have talents. And I know you've heard this a kajillion times, but you just don't realize it. Do stuff that you find is enjoyable. Don't assume that everybody is better than you at everything. If you want to know math better, you can always go online to find answers, like Khan Academy. I taught myself quite a bit of trig off there, though I think I suck at math.

If you feel weird about talking to your mom, you can always send her a letter, and if you need to, ask her to reply the same way.  You can also talk to another grownup that you know well. Communicating with them by email is something I did once.

I really hope you can learn to build up your self-esteem. It takes a lot of positive thinking, but you will come to accept who you are.

I am not to be held accountable for anything Tiara posts, or anything that may be posted under my name, because I think Tiara might post something under my name. Just please don't hold me accountable.

Please, everyone, NEVER sign someone else's name on any comments you submit or on anything you write anywhere. That is so unfair to the person whose name you use, and it undemines the integrity of the Chatterbox.

Uhm Sweetie , that's not really something you should put on the Chatterbox !

I'm sure you're a great person , and smart , because if you weren't , you wouldn't be able to engage in some of the convos on here !

Keep your head up xD

P.S. Being nice isn't weak , it's being strong . It takes a lot to be nice to the girls who were making up rumors about you . And , being sarcastic can get you in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lot of trouble . Take it from me .
