Ask Chatterboxers Thread

Do you have anything you wish you knew about other Chatterboxers? Post your questions here! Please ask your questions so that anyone can answer them, do not address them to one specific person. This is like the "Ask Admins" threads, except these questions are for YOU to answer!

This thread will help us to get to know each other a little bit. It's also a great opportunity to share some things about yourself that other Chatterboxers may not know. This is a good way to break the ice if you're new here, too; just ask Chatterboxers away!

Have fun!

I know a few of you here are Homeschooled, but I'd like to know, what do you consider the best and worst part about it? As for myself, the perks are lots of writing/free time, and I can't think of that many cons!

For me , I hate it because I don't ever see my friends . Twice a week at church , but that's at church , it's not hanging out or anything . Also , my work is really hard . And , my school goes till 5 or 6 , if I actually finish the whole day . We also have to do school year round , and we usually take breaks when our friends are in school so it really sucks .

That's just me . I'd rather go to the private school 3/4 of my friends go to , but my mom says no .

And , I guess I like being able to wear my PJ's and not having to get up really early and my mom adjusts my work sometimes . And also I'm going to graduate in 2016 or 2017 rather than 2018 .

I have a couple of questions about books. 1) What is your favorite book? 2) What is your favorite book genre? 3) Who is your favorite author?

To Everinne's Question:

Yeah, there really aren't that many cons! I love homeschooling. For me, I really don't do very well in a classroom with a bunch of other kids because I'm naturally shy, and easily stressed. So being able to work alone and shoot as far ahead in certain subjects is great! Then with harder subjects (like math) I can slow down, and even get one on one work with my mom. Some perks are: coffee during school, getting lunch/snacks whenever I please, going to school in my pajamas. Plus, I can bend my schedule around my needs, so I can take a vacation when other kids are still in school!

Cons: ... uh... When I'm out and about while kids should be in school, people look at me sometimes like a mutant orange fuzzball? That's about the only downside I can think of!

To Nina's Questions:

1. That would be a tie for Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and What Katy Did. 2. Historical fiction, fantasy, and classics. 3. LM Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, Susan Coolidge, Shannon Messenger, and me!

@ Everinne:

The pros are the help my mom gives me personally, the time I get to procasinate with my siblings for, and the relaxedness of it. Can't think of many cons.

@ Nina:

1. Um . . . the Crown of Earth by Hilari Bell is my absolute favorite book, but the rest of The Shield, the Sword and the Crown, the Tapestry, and Percy Jackson & Heroesof Olympus are all my favorites!

2. Fantasy.

3. Er. . . . Jessica Day George? Maybe. Or Henry Neff, Hilari Bell,
