Winter Olympics

Winter Olympics

Is anyone watching the 2014 Winter Olympics this year? I am! They're in Sochi, Russia, this year.

OH, I am a HUGE winter sports fan. I'll be watching as much as possible, especially figure skating and cross-country skiing. A lot will be broadcast live on NBCSN, but that means I'll have to get up about 3 or 4 am, I think. I'll have to go to bed early!

I love the Winter Olypics too! Admin, I'm going to watch them on NBCSN, and my dad told me that the games that they show at 3, 4 a.m. are live, and he thinks that they'll re-show them later in the day. FYI, there are going to be pre-games later today, such as figure skating (which my little sister loves) and I think women's hockey, but I'm not sure if NBCSN will be showing them. My parents are going to let my sister and I stay up to watch the opening ceremonies this year, so this year in particular I'm really, really, REALLY excited!

It's starting RIGHT NOW!!  It's impossible to be aired live though, since they're nine hours apart.

I LOVED the opening ceremonies last night- the little girl Lyubov??? She was AMAZING!!!!! I loved how it was all through a child's point of view- a girl's especially. The whole thing was very well done- the ship scene was awesome too. And the War and Peace one. Really, I loved it all except for the ridiculous speeches. I still like London's 2012 one the best of all I've seen (that would be three, Vancover, London and now Sochi)- it was sooo historical, soo....real, yet dreamy. Sochi was fantsy more than reality, dreams over what they actually were.

I'm (even though I'm American) cheering for Canada. One of my quirks- actually, my whole family is cheering for Canada. LONG story there:)

I LOVE the Olympics! I don't think I've ever not watched them. The first Olympics I remember watching was 2002. I was only 2, so I remember being scared of all the commercials!

I actually missed the opening ceremony. :( But I'm certainly going to watch the figure-skating. I'm always so amazed at what the skaters are able to do on ice. I really wish I could skate that well...

Admins, what's your favorite event? (winter olympics)

I really liked watching the women's slopstyle (I think that's what it's called) and also ice skating

1. Figure skating 2. Cross-country skiing 3. Slope style (just new to me this week). I'm in awe of what they do! I love seeing all that snow. For figure skating, I love the combination of athleticism, grace, great music, and beautiful costumes. Those pairs ladies, especially, are fearless!

Yeah, I saw her, she was really good. We watched the Canadian Figure Skating too. We kinda just watch it whenever and do not fully commit to watching the Olympics even though they are so cool.

I'm surprised how interesting the Winter Olympics are to watch. It's so mesmerizing.

We have every single BBC channel for free... cause we have a ZAP box. And so we watch them off of BBC2. I really liked seeing the women's ski slopestyle. Dara Howell was AMAZING! And she won!

And.. it was so hilariious! When Katie Summerhayes (Great Britain) was performing on slopestyle, she wasn't doing very well. On her last round, she fell, and naturally the BRITISH narrators were screaming. Both of them, the two guys were freaking out. They were so disappointed that she didn't win!!!

Anyone seen the mascots? :)

I'm not a big sports fan, but I love watching the Olympics.  They've been on nonstop at my house lately.  My favorite sports are figure skating, slopestyle, curling, slaloms, and ski jumping.
