Makeup...

I know there are a lot of girls on the CB, and if you are one, do you guys wear any makeup? And if so, how much? And how much is too much?

No makeup for me. I think too much is when you see the powder coating your face. Or when there is really distinct lipstick marks on a cup. Spammie says wogi. Whoa girl? Hey. I said I don't wear makeup!

I wear makeup for performances only, and even then I only wear mascara, because my eyelashes have this weird thing going on where the eyelashes on my left eye are blonde while the eyelashes on my right eye are dark brown.

I find it unnecessary to wear makeup at this age. Unless you're doing a show or something. What I use to get rid of acne, as I avoid makeup, is Mario Badescu's acne care and drying cream. It helps a lot! A few days ago I had pimples all over my forehead, but once I washed my face with the acne thing and used the drying cream, it's pretty much gone :D (Oops, do I sound like an ad? Ugh, yeah I do. Oh well.)

Overall, I'm just against makeup at this age and all.

Cappie says bewp. Darn, Cappie. You bewped me on the nose.

I wear makeup:

-concealer

-eyeliner

-mascara

I focus mainly on my eyes. Occasionally I'll wear eye shadow, too, but only colors like brown, gold, gray, that kind of thing.

I never wear makeup. I firmly believe in a girl's natural beauty.

Makeup is what helps inspire social cliques and superiority. It all creates a social beauty contest, honestly. Why girls wear makeup, I honestly don't know. I can come up with a few reasons, though none of them are good. Plus, all it really adds up to is vanity. Girls today make it too much of an important issue that they look good and are noticed for it.

I understand for performances (though even then a lot of girls go overboard) so that the lighting doesn't wash them out. Other than that I can't see a good reason for it.

Sorry if that is offensive and intrusive, but makeup is one of many issues that gets me riled.

@BHR

I hate makeup, too. For performances I ask my director if I can't wear make-up, and most of the time they say yes because I have very noticable facial features that don't get washed out in the light.

@S.E.: Good for you! I don't think I'm that lucky. In order for my face to show up in pictures or videos, I'd have to wear a touch of face powder, lipstick, and eye liner. *wretches* I admit makeup can be fun to put on (though it can feel pretty awful on your face, especially lipstick and eye stuff), but after staring at my reflection, I grow to hate what I see when I have makeup on.

Nope, no makeup for me.

For dance shows I wear powder, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, blush and lipstick.

Regular days I just wear mascara and a tiny bit of powder.

Okay, so maybe it looked like I wear a lot of makeup, but I don't! It doesn't make me look like a different person; it just enhances my face, if that makes any sense. For me, makeup isn't a big deal to me, I just really like doing it. It's fun!

I don't wear makeup. Unless you count nail polish. Then I only wear it on my toes. If I was allowed to wear lipstick, I would.

I don't wear makeup in general. If you have to change the way you look to make other people like you, then you are hanging out with the wrong sort of people. But, on very rare occasions, I do wear makeup. Everyone who has ever been a teen has had acne at some point, and some creams work, but frankly I have some friends who have tried EVERYTHING and still have massive red welts of pimples. It's unfortunate, but true. So, if they, or I decide that to look like a functioning human being without people leering at us while we cross the street, we need to wear some concealer, I'm fine with it. Makeup also depends on age and personality. At my age (I'm 14) the most I've ever done is some eyeliner and Chapstick. But if my 18 year old cousin wants to look like a beauty queen, I find that a little bit easier to swallow than an 8 year old walking around with gobs of mascara and a fake tan.  It depends. Makeup in General is about how YOU want to feel about yourself around others. If you have a very dramatic personality, maybe you do want to show it... But as for me, beauty is what you can't wash off. It's about your  personality. You know you wear too much makeup when you leave your house without it and your friends notice a difference.

I agree with you BHR. A girl shouldn't have to wear something to make her beautiful. To me, wearing make-up is like trying to cover up your true beauty.

I never wear makeup. I know that it might make me look better, but being a tomboy, I prefer not to bother with that kind of thing. I am always slightly disturbed when young girls wear a lot of makeup because they want to look all old. It's like, you're ten. What do you need to look eighteen for?
