Grapheme-color synesthesia. Does anyone here have this? P.S. If you comment on this post, please comment once, go back to the front page of Down to Earth, and then make a random post to get it to the top again. Thanks!

I haven't heard of it. What is it?

Grapheme-color synesthesia is a condition where you see actual colors in the air, different colors for every letter someone says. It's sort of hard to explain.

Not me... do you have it?

When I was younger, I think I did. But now I don't anymore. :(

My friend has a mom that has that. I think Beethoven or somebody had it. Do you have it?

Have you read the book A Mango-Colored Space? It talks about this. It's a good fiction book, too.

I read that book! I think it was actually called A Mango-Shaped Space, though. :)

Yeah, I've heard of it. I might buy it next time I'm at the bookstore.

I love that book! It's so sad at the end, though, when--well, you should read it. It's sad. I don't want to give anything away!

Oh, and I wish I had it. Even though the girl in the book said that it was hard in school because some types of synesthesia had personalities for each number and it was hard to make the numbers work with each other in math. I would love to have different colors and patterns for each sound. Or taste. Depending on which type I had.

To the top! I have sound>color synesthesia, which means that a lot of sounds have colors to them. And shapes, sort of, like when I close my eyes. Snapping fingers are brown and round, and kind of explode when they go away.
