Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Letters to Future

Letters to Future Chatterboxers!

Here you can write letters to the CBers of the future. Maybe, four years from now, a noble pioneering CBer will look through the back pages and find it, maybe even top it, so it can be read by Chatterbox: the Next Generation!

Dear Future Chatterboxer,

This generation is fun. Alter Egos reign supreme, as so random RPs and kind Chatterboxers. I wonder, what will RPs be like when a future CBer like yourself reads this? Will there still be CAPTCHA pets and Alter Egos? But I know one thing is for sure. There will always be kind CBers out there, like CayketheCook of our day. Like St. Owl of our day. The admins will stay responsible and unless the seeds of corruption make it in and take root, which I think is unlikely in such a wonderful place such as this, the rare insensitive comment will quickly be quelled. Keep looking through the back pages. Be curious. Read old RPs, and old discussions. Resurrect threads. Use interesting terminology. And stay considerate. I know the CB will change. But I think that the kindness will stay. Here, I was accepted. Hopefully, as will you be.

Sincerely,

A past Chatterboxer,

Somebody

Dear Future Cber,

Hey! I'm Savvy. I'm 10 years old here in 2015, but my birthday is August 6, so you do the math on how old I am now. If anyone ever reads this... yay! I'm happy CB is still going on and going strong. I know things probably have changed and that's okay, but let me tell you what cb used to be like in th old ancient 2015. Is cb still split into catagories? Pudding's place fo the arts, Down to Earth for life, Inkwell for stories, Chirp at Cricket for little games and introductions, and Blab about Books for talking about books?? I hope so. Are you reading this on a computer? Or has the future invented better things? Go search on the internet (or wherever you can search things now) and look up pictures of a computer. That's what I'm typing this on. So what's CB like? What are you like?? I'm Leila but everyone calls me Savvy just because. I'm 10 (well I was) and I love pink and glitter. I also LOVE Taylor Swift. If you don't know who that is, go look up "Love Story by Taylor Swift" also look up "Blank Space by Taylor Swift" and "Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. And if you get the chance, Search up "Speak Now by Taylor Swift" and "Better Then Revenge by Taylor Swift" Yes I have an obsession over Taylor Swift. Ok then. You know what a unicorn is, right?? If not, the future has failed us. Look up unicorns too. Is CB still for young authors and readers and writers? If not, bring back reading and writing sometime. Well, Computer Class is over now so I have to leave.... Bye!!

From, Savvy, A Cber from the past.

Dear past CBers,

The CB hasn't really changed that much since your time. You guys are both still around, so I don't know why I'm doing this. XD

Do I have to? Because I really don't want to. Besides, this is one year from then, not four.

. .  . Aaand I won't.

I think this would still be fun! One year isn't much of a next generation, though.

(I'm touched, Somebody.)

Dear future CBer or CBers,

Obviously I have no idea how far in the future you'll be recieving it, but I do believe that saying you have no idea what a computer is is a bit far-fetched. Still, I don't know, maybe you have chips implanted in your brain or something so you can browse the Internet anywhere you go. Fixes the wifi problem.

Anyway, I'm St.Owl, twelve years old (I was born in late March 2004. Hey, maybe I'll be rich and famous by the time you read this!). I'm a Potterhead, Sherlockian, Whovian-in-training, and Trekkie-in-training (ie, haven't finished the shows yet. But I'm on Capaldi, who is our Doctor at present). I'm also a fan of Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, The Book Thief, LotR (sort of), and a few others. I aspire to be an author, and possibly a musician (I play piano, sing, and am sort of learning guitar).

Now I sound a bit like a snob, talking only about myself. Let me say I've been on the CB for over a year and a half (wow, it sounds like such a short time, but it really isn't), and I've lived through three wars, a lot of alter egos, and five truckloads of insanity. I hope there are no more wars after the one that happened recently. However, there's a very old saying that history repeats itself. I'm sure, however, that whatever happens, the CB will push through it and continue on as the amazing people we are.

Before this gets cheesy and sentimental, I will now end this letter. There's a lot to say. Perhaps I'll write another. Or maybe just go to the back pages, where my generation are in abundance.

Slán!

Hiya. I'm Novelist, but I don't mind any nickname. I am infamous in the earlier days of the CB of annoying people, fangirling over nature and writing terrible speeches. So, what's it like further along the timeline? Are insane AE's still running around and crushing on each other and getting married? Are CAPTCHAs still uttering four-lettered grunts? Or do they have more say in the works of the CB? Is this still the elite writing website I knew of? Is the setup still the same? Or is some kinda odd, high-tech, whoop-whoop place? I hope I won't grow out of it. Most of myself probably won't due to curiosity, friendship, and memories, but I have fallen away from other communites before . . .

Bye, A random person from the past.

Salutations, future Chatterers, legatees of this great box!  The present, which presumeth itself to be called by you the past, haileth you cordially.  Ye are of an era far beyond our imaginations.  At this time in this modern and forward-looking community, we are congratulating four alter egos of present commenters on their engagement and imminent union in marriage.  Nothing like it hath been seen before.  We are hopeful that in your time, such things are an everyday occurrence, which to us do seem so far out, man.

Of course, it goeth without saying that members of your generation are spoilt and soft.  We of the past have to entertain ourselves merely with the Internet, television, books, music, art and string.  Why, if we were to be given a bucket and a rock and a computer, verily could we provide ourselves with days upon days of fun.  We have to steer our horseless carriages by hand, I mean, for heaven's sake, and to go outdoors we must needs open a door and walk out through it.  Still do most of us have unenhanced biology.  Sinews, I say to you.  Our joints are organic.  Our eyes do keep no records.  We do our daily obeisance to Mnemosyne, that she may grant us permissions to access to our memories.  And I, I recall the four-letter words uttered by the boorish beast that ensureth our humanity, before our words may be accepted by the website.

If ye will excuse me, I am called to other tasks.  It is meet that I address a gross violation of common knowledge which hath been displayed in a Youtube comment, that the dude as made it may be made aware of his ignorance.  It is, like, an election year, ye know.

In Cricket solidarity, by the banner that waveth yet over the page, I remain yours -

Man this is so weird.

Dear [enter name here]

Hi! I am a CBer like you. Well of course I am. Do you guys still use the term CBers? If not then that's what we used to call ourselves back in 2016. My name is Shadowcat. Well my real name is Parker so I used to go by Parker S. Anyways.

Do you guys still do CAPTCHAs and AEs? If not then I will tell you about them.

A CAPTCHA is what you have to type in to post a comment. Do you guys still have those or do you use something else. Either way some of us turned our CAPTCHAs in to humans or animals. My CAPTCHA is a fluffy purple kitten with fairy wings called Cass. She says tkpd.

An AE stands for Alter Ego. Basically they were characters that we created that could speak in our posts. Mine are a girl with pink hair called Rose who is trying to put a kick me sign on my back.

Darn you found out.

Right. Now I was saying, a golden haired cat called Lightning and a red (and insane) cat called Fire.

Two words. World domination.

Well good bye because my mom is yelling at me to finish this post.

Hello, future CBer. Nice to meet you. My name's Clouded Leopard, in case you couldn't tell by the name slot. Honestly, in four years I'm not sure we'll have all this fancy tech if we're barely getting VR, but hey, we can dream. And if CB still works in the same way it does now, top this thread and say "OMG look at all these old CBers so weird". Maybe I'll still be around, maybe not.

Oh, yeah, me. Here's some stuff about me... I guess...

Name: Clouded Leopard (pretty cool name, right?)

Age: 13 (as of now)

CAPTCHA: The CAPTCHA's the little four-letter code at the bottom that makes sure you're not a spambot. Mine's name is Vixtion, she's cute.

AEs: Yeah, I hope you're still gonna have AEs. Even if they cause a few disagreements, they're pretty amazing. You may (not) have heard of mine, but they're MewFour, 8-Piece, and Nougat. Go resurrect some more old threads to find out what they're like.

Hey, treat each other nice, too. Even if someone said something that offends you, just breathe, count to 8, and remember they had their own reasons for saying this. It's important to keep this amazing, creative, sharing and caring place on the internet as clean as we can.

Sincerely,

Clouded Leopard
