Firstly, to preempt any questions: NaNoWriMo is a project where you write a novel (50,000 words) in a month in November. YWP is a project for anyone under 13 where you write a novel (you chose the word count) in a month in November. Camp NaNoWriMo is a project where you write a novel in a month in April or July with twelve friends in a cabin. This way you get to see your friends' projects and celebrate with them when they reach their goals!  Sadly, Camp is only for those 13 and up, though you can unofficially join in and write, of course, anytime!

Anyway, I've decided to make a cabin for CBers! If you're 13 and over and want to write, whether you've done it before or not, it's campnanowrimo.org to sign up.

I've done this last April and July and this most recent November. I've never led a cabin before, but I really want to get to know a lot of CBers better! I know a lot of you might not be 13 yet, but I'm sure everyone on this site loves reading and by extension, writing! I'm overusing exclamation points!

In order to join the cabin, you need to 1. make an account or update your previous years' account 2. make a project and 3. give me your username (don't worry, the admins allow NaNo usernames on CB) on this thread.

It's more about the social aspect and being able to write together in a cabin, so don't worry if you aren't confident in your writing ability. We're all in this together (no, I promise, I wasn't singing).

I'm linhcinder_solarpunk, by the way, if anyone wants to NaNoMail me.

Why thank you for reminding me, Air! I meant to make an adult NaNo account back in October and participate in November, but I completely forgot. I saw you this post a few days ago, so I made an account.  Also, my YWP is random_singer.ellie I believe. If that doesn't work, it might not have an underscore.

I hope it's okay if I join? I just made a project on a whim last night - my username is ScinTin, because yikes at username decisions I made in eighth grade.

Hey guys! I'm very happy because Ellie said I could use her old account from ywp, since she's 13, and I'm only 11 (sigh). But we're random_singer.ellie, both of us on the same account, and I just took the word count test, and it said my goal should be 56,880!! I think I'm shortening it to 50,000 or so, but wow who knew I could type that fast!

I took the word count test, too, and if I remember correctly it said I should have a 130000 word-count goal. So I dunno about it...

Thanks, Ellie and Katia! You should have gotten invites.

@St. Owl

Hmm, I don't think the word count on a novel really matters. AFter I finished mine and approximately added the words, mine got to 40,000. I read some stuff online, and they say that most should actually be around 80k or 70k. 100k is alright, but much after and it drags on.
