Recipes and Cooking Thread:

So, besides reading and writing I also love to cook.  That's why I decided to make a thread for posting your favorite recipes.  Fellow bakers and cooks, discuss cooking and baking  technique here until you burst.  Here is my favorite blueberry scone recipe:

 Ingredients:

2 cups of flour

1/2 cup of sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup of butter (frozen is best)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 heaping cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

4. Grate or use a pastry cutter or food processor on the butter.

5. Put the grated butter into the flour mixture and combine it until the mixture is a coarse meal.

6. In a small bowl, whisk the cream, egg, and vanilla together.

7. Drizzle this mixture onto the flour and then toss it together with a rubber spatula until everything is moistened.

8. Gently and slowly fold in the blueberries, careful not to overwork the dough.

9. Work the dough into a ball with floured hands.

10. Transfer into the pan and press down.

11. Cut into eight pieces and separate so that there is a bit of space beteween each one.

12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden and cooked through.

Yay! Cooking is my favorite! Awhile ago I was pretty into baking, but now I'm trying out more healthy recipes. My favorite salad dressing ever is really easy to make.

Olive oil

Lemon juice

Parmersan cheese

Add as much olive oil as you want (it depends on how much salad you are eating or if you are making dressing to store for later), then add half to three quarters the amount of olive oil in lemon juice. Mix these together until they combine, then add as much parmesan cheese as you wish.

As you can see, it's extremely simple and relatively healthy too!

Usually for smoothies, I just put in a banana or two, whatever smoothie worthy fruit I have, yogurt, and milk.  It is fantastic!  You really only need the banana to make it sweet.  Frozen fruit is better.

YAY! Another recipie thread. (hopefully it won't die as quickly as mine)

@Echo have you ever tried orange juice in a smoothie (just a tip/question)

@Everybuggy I guess I will just put one of my smoothie recipes here...

You will need

Frozen peaches (as many as you want)

1 banana (sliced)

Frozen strawberries (as many as you want)

And one of the tiny orange juice cartons for kids

I think IceWolf would like to say hi
