I'm here!

1.) Do you own a horse?

No. :( But I work with one specific horse named Lady.

2.) Favorite breed of horse?

Arabian, for their personality. I think Friesians are beautiful, though! I probably should've said Thoroughbred, because that's what Lady is... Oh well.

3.) How often do you ride?

A lot in the summer. We try to do it once a week, but that doesn't always work out. During the school year, it depends.

4.) What discipline (Hunt seat, reining, vaulting, dressage, ect,) do you ride?

I don't really do any of those. My piano teacher just needs someone to work with her horse, so...

5.) If you do lessons, who's your favorite horse(s) you ride?

Lady, a retired thoroughbred. My piano teacher(also lesson instructor, sort of) has three horses other than Lady named Hidalgo, Buttercup, and Farah. I used to ride Farah, but now my sister rides her and I have Lady.

6.) How long have you been riding?

My next-door neighbors used to own horses (Wow, I am a country girl) and I rode for the first time when I was around 2.

7.) What style do you ride (Western or English)?

Western.

8.) Have you ridden bareback before?

Yes, I love it! Makes riding more exciting, I think.

9.) Have you ridden no sturrups before?

Yeah, I guess? When I was younger my feet wouldn't reach them, if that counts.

10.) Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider?

I'd say intermediate. I can't really do anything fancy, but we ride through fields and stuff. Lady is really jumpy (She freaks out over little things, like paper bags) so most of my riding time is spent working with her, trying to get her to be less afraid. I hope someday I can go on a trail ride.

My funny stories aren't really funny. Once, horse stepped on my sister's foot when she was wearing flip flops. One time they were putting up new telephone poles where we were riding, and Lady got freaked out and started to buck. I almost fell off. My piano teacher recently got a pony (she pretty much just takes the horses other people don't want) named Bo. He would barely let anyone touch him! But, he got a TON of burs stuck in his mane and tail, and my sister and I had to get them out. Needless to say, that took a while. That's all I can think of, for now.

Oz is cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed what you said about sharing funny stories. I have one. So, on my survey I said I'd been on a galloping horse twice. Here's how.

I was riding on Kemo, and my Grandma says Kemo's name. Kemo's off like a shot, and then once I regain control, Cho says, "Just don't say giddyup!" And Kemo's off again. It was fun, but also it startled me.
