Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Yay for me!I

Yay for me!

In my TAP Math Class (advanced, we are doing 7th and 8th grade math in 6th grade, freshman math in 7th grade, and sophomore math in 8th grade) (I hope this doesn't sound like I'm bragging, sorry if it does), I took a test once, got a low score on it, retook it (I can do that as many times as I want, but with a different test with the same standards every time) and got the same score, and retook it again after school today and got the highest score possible! We do standards-based grading, so it's not in percents, but yeah.

I'm so happy with myself because I finally understand everything. Now, I have to work with square and cube roots and the Pythagorean theorem. Bleh. At least I get a calculator.

I'm SUPER sorry if this sounds like a bragging. Don't 'hate comment' and just ignore this post.

Reporter out!

It doesn't don't worry! Congratulations on your test! The important thing is that you nderstand the math.

And don't worry about roots and Pythagorean theorem-- it's pretty okay if you have a calculator! just make sure to read the problems carefully... that is my downfall.

Awsome job CNN!!!, I know how wonderful it feels when You finally understand the math.  :-)

Waffle says nnek,  um, yeah.  I have a neck.  Why are you lookinng at me like that?! Waffle?! Waffle!! AIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Bwaaaahahahahahah!!!!!!!

Um....... I'm not going to ask what you mean by stupid alert.

Anyways, congratulations reporter! (Not really sure what to call you, is reporter OK?). That's really impressive! And don't worry about all of the long and terrifying theorems; they'll be fine if you just take it one step at a time.

My main problem, like Somebody, is making careless mistakes. Stupid careless mistakes. I usually misread the problem, or make some obvious blunder....... So let's hope I grow out of that. I'm doing geometry this year, and I'm a little nervous. I mean, it looks fun, but also looks hard, and I can't seem to remember all of the postulates and theorems to construct proofs. MENTAL BLOCK. Anybod who's gone through the whole eight grade terror of geometry have any advice? (OK, it's not that bad, I'm just nervous for later......)

Congradulations! I know how awesome that feeling is!

I'm awful at math! In fact, I'm trying my 3rd Algebra 1 course in two years (two were online courses that didn't work; now I'm doing Saxon).

My trouble is forgetting units. And then I get the problem wrong! I constantly forget "area squaria" too.

1. I started Pythagorean Theorem and it is SUPER FUN! I get to use a calculator, which I guess makes it better (calculators for life!), but it is awesome.

2. Feel free to call me CNN or Reporter.

3. I am always messing up over stupid mistakes. One day, I though 25-9=14, not 16. Once someone pointed it out, I was pretty embarrassed. Sometimes I will write 2.04 instead of 2.64 when I had written 2.64 before. I probably either forgot it or can't read my own handwriting. Yeah, I make mistakes on second-grade stuff.

4. No one is stupid! You may be having trouble with something, but it just means that you are working towards it. My math teacher said that he wants us to be confused, he wants us to get frustrated, and he wants us to get upset because that is how we learn. When you are confused or don't understand something, remember: that is how you learn. :)

Why am I lecturing people when I'm only 11 and just starting middle school? #internall struggles

This is a direct transcript of what basically happened in math class recently.

*gets math test back*

Okay, yeah, I did this wrong here because I didn't get 5 number summaries... and...

*looks at MAD*

Part of answer: |10 - 24| = |-12| = 12

Fruity says hhaf. Fruity, I'm glad you're learning fractions, but it's spelled "half". I know, the silent "l" is weird.

Good for you! Ugh, I have to do ALL my math with no calculator. I'm not allowed to use it in any way, at any time. It's not fair. *stomps foot* I'm in 9th grade and still have to do every single step because I have no calculator!
