The Hatch!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

The Hatch!

The Hatch!

Some of you may not have seen my post, but I started another batch of eggs a few weeks ago. Yes, just like last time, some have begun hatching a few days early. (They were due to hatch on Friday. One started last night!) This time, I actually have some americaunas pipping! I'm so excited to see how many will hatch out! I really hope there were some turken or cochin eggs in the mix--I guess I'll see when they finish hatching. (All their eggs practically look the same light brown.) Right now five eggs have pipped--but none are fully out of the egg yet.

Speaking of baby animals, well, let's just say I'm not called Micearenice for nothing. My mouse Sylvia just had her first (probably only) litter of mice! I'm so proud of her. Millet, the mouse I hand-raised, is her father, and now he's a grandfather!

I'm going to count the pups when they're a little older and easier to keep track of. (Right now they squirm like crazy. I think she had around 13, though.)

Do you mean Kyngdom? Because the Chatterbox is definetly NOT Kyngdom, although they are run by the same magazine.

I consider Kyngdom to be one section of the Chatterbox.

I am so thrilled right now! Leaving a vent plug out during the entire incubation DRASTICALLY increased the growth and hatch rates of the chicks. So far, 18 chicks have hatched, with more on the way!!!!!!! And the AMERICAUNA eggs hatched! And one chick has feathered feet! And Mr. Peabody's offspring are hatching right now--they'll probably be out of the egg by the time this is posted!

Here's a picture:

Aww!

Did you take my suggestion about naming some after CBers? (I'm by no means asking you to name one Icy, but that would be cute. But other CBers over me! I don't want to be selfish!)

The one at the bottom that's sorta splotched is cute!

THEY'RE ALL CUTE!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys! @Icy, I haven't named any chicks after CBers yet--I actually haven't named any chicks yet, from the August hatch or this October hatch! Well, except for Sunny, but she turned out to be a boy...

(However, I did end up naming one of my mice Daisy...Maybe I'll name some of Sylvia's babies after Cbers! :P For some reason, it's easier to name mice than chicks.)
