Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I'm not sure

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right... I am new here, well, kinda new.  I just wanted to put out a question.  Anyone want to write about their favorite vacations??  Has anyone ever been to Cedar Point Roller Coaster Park in OH????

You're doing it right! :)

I've never been there. One of my fav. vacations was at Woodlock, a place in Pennsivania. We went there for a family reunion! It was so much fun. They have a lot of cool activities.

YAAAAAA!!!!!!!  "VACATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thread #2!!! :):):):) Hee, hee, hee!!! :D:D:D:D

I will be very brief, if I'm capable of that... :):)

First vacation that I EVER went on was when I lived in FL, I came on a camping trip to ME.  I can't remember it, but it was supposedly pretty awful...  My family's not a camping family... :):)

We moved to Maine when I was 2ish and began going to the Samoset Resort (AMAZING) up in Rockport (or is it Rockland?), ME, ever Thanksgiving. :):) Stopped going there when I was 8ish.  I think. :( Then, I went back when I was 9ish.

When I was 5ish, I went back to FLORIDA for a week or so.  Went to DisneyWorld, SeaWorld ('Daddy, what's a manatee?'), the Central Florida Zoological Park (that's a mouthful!), an ORLANDO MAGIC BASKETBALL GAME (YAA!), the Disney Marketplace, and, ummm, I guess some other stuff that I forgot, because that was a while ago. :)

When I was 8ish I went to NC to visit relatives for Thanksgiving.  Great fun! :) (even though the only cousin even close to my age is four years older than me...)

When I was 10ish I went to NC again, but in the summer.  We were located on a tropically isle called Emerald Isle (ever been there?).  Very beautiful!  Our beach house was actually on the beach!!!!!!! :D:D:D (saw a shark!)

In November, I went BACK to NC for Thanksgiving again.  Still great fun. :)

When I was 11ish, I went to FLORIDA!!!!  We went to Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Central Florida Zoological Park (why not call it the Florida Zoo?), the Disney Marketplace, and some other stuff that I forgot for no reason... :):) Very fun, even though my brother shot spit balls at me the whole time... :)

When I was still 11ish (in July, 2008), I went to Denver, then drove all over the mid-west.  It lasted about, ooh, 25 days. :D:D Went to Yellowstone, Garden of the Gods, Mount Rushmore, and maaany more famous landmarks. :):) And saw bison, and bison, and, oh, more bison! :D

Then, in January, 2009, (wait, was it January?!) my mommy and I went to FLORIDA!!!!!!!  Went to DisneyWorld, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, an ORLANDO MAGIC BASKETBALL GAME (YAA!), and, umm, some more stuff that I've already forgotten...  (Hehehe) Probably the best trip ever!!! :D:D:D

And there were also many frequent trips to New York and Quebec thrown in there, but I completely forgot the order. :) And, also, my summer camp, but I wouldn't really consider that a vacation.  Wow, I just realized that I went on a ton of vacations!!!!! :O

Oh, and, R~D~, welcome!! :D:D Great topic, by the way!!! :D:D

AH!!  ME TOO!!!!!

Although, I would add a few more places to that list.

You know, I've only been on a real vacation ONCE?

And, I've only been out of the state twice.  Once to go to Oregon, and once to Hawaii.  *sigh*

All I really want is for my dad to have time off.  I've never even been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium!!!!!!!!  ARG!!!!!!!!!

Have you, Kimberly?

I went to Yellowstone, Paige.  It was one of my fav places.  We got stopped by bison in the road quite a few times.  They were EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!  :S  But my family got REALLY lucky and saw a black bear with 2 cubs!!!

It sounds like you've had a pretty awesome life!!!!!!!!!  HeHeHeHe!! :D

Ugh, I typed up a whole loong response, then my computer jammed up and I lost it!!! :(:( Anyway...  Isn't Yellowstone awesome?!?  Yes, bison can be a real road jam a lot!! :):) I actually saw my first wild bison in Custer State Park, SD. (LOTS of bison!! Waaay more than I saw in Yellowstone!) BLACK BEARS with CUBS?!?!?!  In the wild?!?!  That's soooo cool!!! :D:D:D:D We didn't see anything more wild than a moose (well, coyotes, but...)... How far away were they???  Did you have to get up wicked early or anything?!?  Wow!! :D:D

Actually, no, we were just driving and we saw a TON of cars lined up on the side of the road.  And when that happens in Yellowstone, there's normally something to look at!!!!  So we pulled up and there they were!!  The bears were pretty far away, I can't quite remember, but we got caught in a HUGE jam.  There were even rangers who had to control the traffic and stop people from getting out of their cars!!!!  We happened to see alot of wild animals there!!!

Ya, the first bison we saw, we took a ton of pictures of because we thought they were so neat.  But by the end of that vacation, we were sick of them!!!!!!!!

:D ;)

That's cool!!!  And, like you said about the bison, I got REALLY sick of coyotes by the end of the trip!!!  I saw more in places like Colorado, and pretty much everywhere but Yellowstone, but it got sort of annoying.  I got SO excited the first time, because I had never seen one, and then I think we ended up see two dozen in the end!!!!!!!!!! :):):):) And the same thing happened with pronghorns.... Ugh.. :):)

I've never been to Cedar Point, but I've been to

Kelley's Island, which is a small island on Lake Erie

and it's really close to Cedar Point. My little brother

is trying to beg my parents into going there this year.
