Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Welcome to the...

Welcome to the... Engineering thread!!
We can use this thread to talk about engineering, but before any science-haters out there leave, that's not the main point of this thread. I made a quiz about what type of engineer you are, with eleven possible answers... so even if you're not an engineering person (or don't think you are...), go ahead and take it!
Rules:
- Be honest!
- Most questions are multiple choice, but always feel free to pick several answers or add your own.
- This one is for me: I will make sure I check at least once a day for new answers, and when yours has shown up I will post the results as soon as I see it!
1. What are your thoughts/skills with math-- Do you struggle with it, do well, or do kind of okay? Also, do you dislike it, enjoy it, or is it not-terrible-not-amazing?
2. Would you rather work...
a. by yourself
b.  with other people
c. a mix
3. Do you get bored?
a. Not if I have my computer!
b. Never
c. Sometimes
d. If I'm by myself
e. Very often
4. When you have to read a long list of instructions, do you tend to skim it?
a. No, I read every word.
b. A little, but only the parts that don't seem important.
c. I skim a lot.
d. I don't know/don't care/depends
5. What are your feelings on mirrors?
a. They're mirrors...
b. It's really interesting how mirrors work. Let me explain...
c. Light bounces off them? Or something? Hmm, I should go research this.
6. Other than engineering, what career/s do you think you'd want to go into?
a. Teacher
b. Children's author
c. Editor
d. Broadway director
e. Journalist
f. Doctor
g. Librarian
h. Lawyer
7. When you have a question, you...
a. Google it
b. Forget about it
c. Ask whoever happens to be nearby
d. Ask the person you think would most likely know the answer
e. Figure it out for yourself
8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
9. When you were in early elementary school, what job/s did you dream of having when you grew up?
10. Choose one big thing you could picture yourself doing when you're older:
a. Help people gain access to safe, affordable housing
b. Research cures for fatal diseases
c. Find safe and environmentally friendly solutions for generating energy
11. Choose one smaller thing you could picture yourself doing when you're older (or why not now?!):
a. Build a table out of scrapwood
b. Organizing a trash pickup at your local park
c. Tutoring kids after school
12. And finally... which one/s of these things are you impressed by? (please don't add any answers to this one :)
a. Bridges and skyscrapers
b. Airplanes and spacecraft, or just space and the atmosphere in general
c. Cars, batteries, x-rays, refridgerators, printers, cameras... need I continue?!
d. The human body
e. Electricity
f. Computers and phones
g. Atoms, molecules, and other microscopic things that make up life (If this is you, what seems more interesting: how they interact and are made up, or how we can control them to make energy?)
h. Plants and animals
i. The internet
j. Boats, submarines, and the ocean itself
And yes, I've been posting recently and will make sure I give you answers to this quiz... but that doesn't mean I'm back :)
Thanks for taking this! Enjoy your results and engineer on!!!

Personally I think you'd make an incredible engineer! However, you are interested in so much that nothing really stands out for me as "the career" for you.

- Aerospace engineer: this one is my top choice for you, but again, it is hard to say... likely I'm only choosing this because it's what I'm somewhat interested in!

Other ideas: Chemical engineer or nuclear engineer.
