RYPA

RATTLE'S Young Poets Anthology accepts submissions from anyone 15 or younger. It is connected to the adult journal (RATTLE) which my writing teacher used to be an editor for.

Does anyone else submit to RYPA regularly? They publish some weird stuff sometimes, but usually everything is unique and funny and particularly deep for the specified age group. I've been submitting since I was 9, and have been published twice, but not every time. This journal is pretty hard to get into.

The nice thing about RYPA is that it comes out in print (yay!) in a book (YAY!!), so it's super fun to see your name in print. Also, if you get a poem published, it will send out to everyone on the RATTLE a day email list. So cooooolio! Has anyone else been published in this journal? Or similar journals?

That sounds so cool! I should give it a try.

I've submitted to SAY, an anthology of youth creative writing and art made by Stanford University. I also got a print copy which was amazing, but they only accept submissions from middle schoolers, so I can't submit any more...

Cool! I'm in Middle School, so I can submit :)

I'll look it up!

That's awesome, Rose bud! After seeing this post earlier, I submitted my own poems for RYPA... First time doing it, I'm kinda nervous. Hopefully submitting to Rattle will be a regular thing, but this will be my only time for RYPA. In April I turn 16, so...

Anyways, great job on getting published twice, that's awesome!
