BEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The

BEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The package of bees got her a few minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't know how mom and dad are goign to get them in the hive.  Somehow.  My dad and me finished building the roof for the bees last night.  The guy that was carrying them all the way down are long drivway was probably not very happy about carrying so many bees.  There is like three pounds of bees.  How many bees is that?  10,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom and dad got the bees in their hive three hours ago.  They first had to take the can out with the queen bees cage in it.  And then brush all the bees off with a bee brush.  The smoker worked really well.  I didn't get stung.  I wasn't wearing any special thing.  Mom had to pour the bees into the hive. It looked weird.  The bees were flying around EVERYWHERE.  I'm surprised I wasn't scared.  I use to be freaked out by bees.  TWO DAYS AGO!  I took some pictures, maybe I can put some on here...I'll have to do it later...

Oh, that's cool! My dad randomly decided to get bees this year (with the inspiration of my uncle) and a few days later they went crazy. I mean like, a big swarm just flying around this one little area of our yard. I got my camcorder out and taped it, too. (tee hee) :D It was weird. I'm not sure exactly why they did that, but I think it was because the queen bee flew away randomly or something... But anywho, it's all good now. Good luck on the bees! ;D

(Sorry about the rambling...)

Did your dad catch the swarm?  My mom and dad had classes and got a DVD for it.  They also bought some equipment.  Like the bee brush, the smoker, at a store we got a chicken feader, and I think mom got a veil for some reason.  My mom also made some sugar water, chamomile tea and put it in a spray bottle. And also the sugar water went in the chicken feader and then some wood chips, so if the bees fall in they can pull themselves out.  My dad sprinkled sugar on the bottom of the hive.  The hives in partial shade, partial sun.  Its facing east, and its close to the woods.  Its also facing the trampoline...

Bees? I'm afraid of them... I can't believe you weren't scared! If my dad or mom decided to raise bees, I'd run away from home! (Maggie no likes bees!)

Yeah, my dad did finally catch the swarm. But

the bees felt like being stubborn and decided

they'd rather live in the tree they discovered than

their own hive, so then we had to move another

hive beside the tree so they would stay... But yes,

all is good now ;D

Mom and Dad were checking if the queen was out of her cage.  They think she is.  The cage fell down to the bottom and Dad saw bees flying in and out of it.  Dad didn't pick it up though.  The bees built a comb that was white and egg shaped.  The perimeter is about twenty inches.  They built that in one day!!!!!  It's so cool!
