Pzuz, Lightning's CAPATCHA-I see the frosting dripping slowly down from the chandiler.(note from CBer Lightning- they are not speaking in CAPATCHAs because it takes too long to write,) I get a gleam in my eye. Slowly, I strech up and lick it.

cloud, Lightning's AE~ i come in rushing. "Sorry, Niccolai, my adopted little brother tried to sneak in- long story. Anyways, want a cupcake?"

"No!" niccolai yells. "I mean, no thank you,"

i grin then. "Oh, and guess what I brought?"

the dragon stretches. i get on. they look slightly offended... they fly up and around in circles, with me on their back. everything is working out, we can take turns flying! but then they fly down and ask some random AE to dance!

Ok, that was weird... but when you get AEs together, what do you expect?

Counter~

Even though Jammira's hair is a tiny bit lopsided and there are more curls excaping than before, she looks more cheerful now that the frosting's gone. She either doesn't notice or doesn't care that she's a little disheveled, and I'm not going to tell her. She still looks nice. Really nice.

Jammira seems lost in though, and I tap her on the shoulder. She looks over at me.

"Jammira?" I say, trying to sound nonchalant, "Would you like to try that dance again?"

"Yes. I think I would," she answers, her bright green eyes lighting up. Her dress really brings out their intense hue, even adds a touch of blue. A wave of tingles spread over my hands, a longing for a brush to paint this color. I mentally slap my hands still. Stupid, Counter! I berate myself, Jammira doesn't think of you this way. Does she?

I jump up abruptly, then pull Jammira to her feet. She uses the momentum to launch high into the air, spreads her wings, then comes back down, laughing.

"Come on, then!" I call, pulling her by the hand into the mob of swirling skirts and stamping feet. We quickly regain our galloping, leaping, joyful dance, spinning around couples, twirling through the crowd. We are approaching the center of the ballroom when Jammira yanks me in the other direction, speaking loudly over the din,

"Not under that chandelier! I don't want more frosting in my hair, thanks!" I stumble and nearly crash right into Rosalyn and Grey. I regain my footing before an embarrassing collision, but accidentally step on Jammira's toes.

"Ouch! Be careful!" she snaps, but I can tell she's not really mad. Suddenly, Rosalyn sprints past us, her shoulder bumping mine out of the way. Grey stares after her, then follows, calling,

"Rosalyn! Wait!" He dashes out of the group. Jammira and I keep dancing for a long, long time. Finally we both nearly collapse into each other, exhausted. We lurch off the floor, giggling, and head to the floor. I grab a tiny little sandwich speared with a toothpick and bite down. Immediately, it feels like my mouth has exploded into fire and pain.

"Aaaghh!" I spit the sandwich out, trying to relieve the pain.

"What is up with the food?" Jammira asks, cracking up.

"Someone put chili peppers in the sandwich!" I gasp.

Still laughing, Jammira grabs a cup of water and some plain bread. "Here ya go!" She cheerfully hands them to me. I shove the bread into my mouth and slowly feel the pain disipate.

"Thanks," I say. Jammira grins evily.

"You shoulda seen your face! It was hilarious!"

"So you say. You weren't the one with a hot pepper in their sandwich!" I feel a grin sliding up my face and I add, "It was kinda funny though. Just a little."

Rosalyn~

I raise my head from the sink, hoping I don't look too awful.

"Y-yes, I would. Thanks. Just...let me finish cleaning myself off."

I take a dry paper towel and rub it over my face to dry it, wincing at the rough texture of the towel.

I hope I got all of the frosting out of my hair. I pull the bobby pins out of my hairstyle and let it fall down past my waist.

"What do you think, Grey--should I just wear my hair loose for the rest of the ball...?"

He's staring at me, his mouth slightly open.

"Grey?"

"Wha-huh? Oh, um--yes, sure!"

I laugh and flash him a smile. Then I comb out my hair with my fingers, smooth down the skirt of my dress, and take Grey's arm.

"So where was the photo booth again?"

Key ~ I run up the stairs and look down. Anna is just coming
around, I'm not sure where the other one has gone. I suddenly feel sick.
I turn and stumble into the room to my right. A vision clouds my
thoughts. Someone is hurt, and in need of my help. She's screaming. She
needs me. I don't know if I can do it...I've seen people with magic fall
to this ailment before...A feeling of dread seeps into my soul as I
remember Brian. Is this why I'm so attracted to Amber? He reminds me of
Brian...but Brian was so different. I here someone at the door...I'm on
my knees now...Brian...Amber....Pseudonym....Where am I?! What is
happening...?! The vision is worse now...I can see the blue-ish color
creeping up her arm. Last time it was pink...Last time it killed...I
need to move. Need to start going....I can't....I don't know how....I
can't feel anything.
"Key?! Key?!!" Pseudonym is kneeling next to me, leaning over me, his eyes are troubled.
Stop making a scene Key! I shout to myself. I try to stand but only fall into Pseudonym.Brian...Amber...Pseudonym....Everyone
else is making a scene! You don't need to start now! Why did you even
have to come up here?! "Why did you have to come to the ball...?" I
speak the last one aloud. My vision is going black...someone is standing
over me...I can't see....There are more people.... "Lock...?! Lock!?"

Lock~
I drag Sib up the steps to the doorway. Two young men close to my age
are standing there, looking in. Key is on her back on the floor,
Pseudonym leaning over him.
"What is going on?!" Sib asks. I let go
of her hand, not explaining I hurry in and bend over Key. Her face is
flushed and I can see she is having a vision. She's mumbling.
"Brian...Amber....Pseudonym...." I glance at Pseudonym, leaning over
Key's other side. "What is wrong with her?!" He asks, clearly worried.
"Stop making a scene!" Key mumbles. She hates it when people watch her...as bold as she is.
"Key," I reach out to her... She doesn't seem to hear me. 'Key?"

"Lock...?! Lock?!" Her voice is panicked.
"I'm
here, Key." I reply, holding her hand. I think she is having a vision.
Silver told me she has had them before, mostly about the world she came
from before she was Silver's AE or things that remind her of it...but
I've never seen her have one. I don't remember much about that world.
"Brian..." She mumbles, trying to sit up.
I feel like I should know that name...but I'm not sure where I've heard it...
"She's going to be killed!" Key cries, seeming to come to her senses.

"Who is, Key?" I ask, trying to get things straight.
"You have to help her...have to stop it from killing her....hurry!"
"Who?!" I ask again, fear creeping into my heart. "Where!?"

"The girls' bathroom..." She mumbles... She's going limp in my arms. I don't know what to do.

Key~
I mumble out the words "The girls' bathroom..." blackness is coming
over me....Brian! Amber! Pseudonym! I'm lost in the dark.

Lock~ She goes limp in my arms. I think she's fainted.
"Is she okay?!" Pseudonym asks, shaking Key.
"She's fainted." I say hurriedly. "Watch over her!"
"What was all that? Who is Brian...? What is going on?! Is she okay?"
I
leave Pseudonym asking questions and race out of the room. "Sib!" I
call to Sib as I pass by. "Help me!" I run down the steps, and through
the crowed. People are moving around and talking loudly, my head is beginning to ache. I see through the crowed just as someone...a young
girl with wings runs into the girls' bathroom. I can't go in there! I've
never been in a girls' bathroom in my life! I...I can't!
"Sib!" I
turn and grab her arm. "We..." I falter...the girls' bathroom? It can't
wait...I know when Key says says someone is going to be killed she
isn't joking. "We need to go into the girls' bathroom."

Poor, Sib. She must be having a heck of a night.
"Please. I trust my sister...Please Sib..."
It's up to her...I don't know if I can do it with out her... "Please....Or...get someone I can't do it alone..."

~Silver...
Sorry for all my mess ups...I know there are a lot but it is way late
here and I REALLY need to get to bed... XD ...I have work tomorrow....
Also sorry if it seems like I took over the RP I really didn't mean to.
Anyone can change anything! XD Sorry.
Night!

~~~
The other AE--Rosalyn--has finally left, after taking down her hair and muttering about someone named Grey. He sounds pretty dull to me-- I mean, what kind of a name is Grey? But, she seems fascinated with him, and I have worse problems than whether or not someone's name is interesting.
I splash water onto my blue arm, but it barely slows the spread. I start to panic. What can I do? Suddenly, the blue from the Amaryllis Nectar surges and reaches my wing muscle. I let out an involuntary scream as it starts to invade the wing. Brown feathers sizzle and fall off as the nectar reaches them.
I desperately wrench all the taps on as far as they'll go and stick my wing under the rushing water. This time, it does nothing. The nectar is too far into my system.
I wish i could remember the spell Willow used to repel the nectar the last time. I search my memory, but I was only half-concious, and it does no good.
The door flies open, and a male AE runs in. He's followed by a puzzled-looking female AE. I think the female AE's name is something like Sib.
The male AE'S face pales as he sees my nectar-infested wing. "Key was right," he mutters. Key... his sister, maybe?
He runs over to me and starts inspecting my wing. "Okay. Umm...let's see...we could...no, maybe...wait, perhaps...no...uh..."
I cut him off. "Look, I don't know who you think you are, or even what your name is, but I got this." I push him away even as more feathers are falling to the ground. "Oh!" I scream as the nectar starts in at the flight feathers. No... how can I ever fly again? For that matter, will I even live?
"Lock. Lock Kyar," the male AE says distractedly as he steps up to my wing again. He inspects it, despite my best efforts.
"What?" I ask.
He finally looks at me. "My name is Lock Kyar."
"Oh," I say. Then something clicks. "Say that again!"
He looks at me weirdly. "What?"
"Say that again! Say your name again!"
"Lock?"
"No, your full name!"
"Lock... Kyar?"
I turn and look at my wing. The white glow is fading, but it was definetely there. "Faster!"
"Uhh... LockKyar?" He gasps as the white glow appears again on my wing. I nod excitedly. "That's it! That's the spell Willow used last time! It repels the nectar!"
I start chanting it, and Lock and the female AE join me.
"LockKyarLockKyarLockKyarLockKyar..."
The poison is a quarter of the way gone.
"LockKyarLockKyarLockKyarLockKyar..."
Halfway gone.
"LockKyarLockKyarLockKyarLockKyar..."
Nearly there!
"LOCKKYAR!"
The last of the poison fades from my wing and arm, and I can breathe easily again.  I sink to the ground.
Lock and the female AE sag against the wall, looking pale and spent. I feel guilty. I had forgotten how much magic takes out of you if you're not used to it. I rise and offer Lock my hand.
"Thanks," I say. He takes it and smiles. "I dont think I ever learned your name..." he starts.
I smile back. "Zoey. Zoey Griffon."
A note from Starseeker:
Thanks for the use of your name, Lock! You saved my AE! It does sound really cool if you smush it together and say it kinda fast: LockKyar. LockKyar. I think I'll be walking around the house saying that now! LockKyar. LockKyar. LockKyar....
@Lock and Sib:
I know I'm not supposed to be here, so I'll make this quick. Just to clarify: when I put Lock into Zoey's section, I was not shipping them. I just needed an ending fast, so... that happened. It was not a ship. I'm not trying to have my AE steal your date, Sib! Promise! Okay, okay, I'll go now, you can stop pushing me towards the door, Zoey.
Pseudonym~
Key is on the ground, unconcious. Her brother raced off to the bathroom, and I'm left to watch over her. She blinks once, twice. "Please wake up Key, please be alright." I murmur. It sounds so childish. Her eyelashes flicker, but she's still unconcious. She said something about Brian and Amber and then my name before she fainted, who knows what that means. Secret walks over cautiously. She looks frightened, something I've never really seen.
There's a scream from downstairs. Key's eyes open, then close again. She's waking up. And maybe the drama will finally be over.
I have no clue what just happened. I'm tired, and I think I used magic...although I don't much...and I'm not sure how...I look at Sib and Zoey sitting with their backs against the sinks. Sib has turned off the sinks but there are large puddles of water on the floor where it dripped from Zoey's wings. The burning blue color has stopped going up her wings and arm. I have no clue what I did, or what my name had to do with it, but I don't want to think of it again.
Finally I sit up. I don't want to sit in the girls' bathroom the whole day. Best get out now. I walk over and help Sib to her feet. She looks tired and for once doesn't have anything to say. Her hair is falling down about her shoulders, and her dress is wet. I smile as her eyes meet mine. She looks pretty...in a very...natural sort of way. I like it. A lot. Sib smiles back at me and I wonder what she is thinking. Then she glances at Zoey.
I walk over to her, "Are you alright?"
Zoey nods, as if she isn't at all sure.
"What happened...and why did my name...help?"
~~
That is totally fine! I get it! ;) I'm glad you like Lock Kyar's name...I'm not at all sure how I thought of the Kyar part...I just...thought of it! XD
Oh--and here is a thought-- maybe Willow is somehow related to Lock Kyar...? OR...I don't know...lol! Xd
Lock seems pretty confused, so I'm going to explain. Aaaaand I kinda doubt that Lock is related to Willow, though he could be, but.... Willow is a unicorn... so....
~~~

Lock helps Sib to her feet and turns to me. "Are you alright?" he asks me. I stretch my arm in front of me. It's pale and undamaged as ever. "I think so, yeah." Then I try to stretch out my wing. It feels fine, but I hear Lock and Sib suck in a breath through their teeth. I catch a glimpse of it in the mirror. Feathers are no longer dropping off, but the wing is nearly bare. I reach back and stroke the pink skin and remaining downy feathers.

"Oh, Zoey..." Lock says, reaching out to touch my wing. "I'm so, so sorry."

I shrug. "It's fine." Although, it's not. How can I ever fly again? I smack my head. Of course!

I wave my hand over my wing and mutter an incantation.  The feathers start growing back in, but very slowly. It will take several hours, and until then, I'll be off balance and unable to fly.

I turn back around. Lock is staring at me open-mouthed. I forgot not everyone can do magic, and even if they can, not as well as I can. Most ordinary people's magic is restricted to finding lost things and looking good all the time. Mine goes a little farther: transforming into someone else, erasing memories, keeping the world from exploding, little things like that.

I grin. "You've never seen much magic before, have you?"

He shakes his head.

"Well," I say, "You should probably start thinking about it. Not many people could help me cast that incantation like you could. Thanks for your name, by the way." Without another word, I slip past him and enter the ballroom once again. Or, at least, I try-- he catches me by the arm. "What-- what happened?" he asks. "Why did my name help?"

I shake my head. "It wasn't your name. You just happen to be named after a healing incantation-- and a strong one at that. When you said your name, it triggered the incantation."

"Oh... okay..." Lock says, wrinkling up his nose in confusion. I laugh, and actually enter the ballroom this time. Lock and Sib follow close behind, and out of the corner of my eye I see Sib blush shyly at something Lock says. I smile internally. Lock's a good guy. He leapt into a strange situation-- and a girl's bathroom, no less!-- to help someone he's never met. He deserves someone nice and kind like Sib.

I seek out Evil Devin in the crowd. As soon as he sees me, his eyes travel back to where Lock is, and where we just came out of. His face crumples into hurt and confusion.

"Evil Devin--" I call, but he's already run outside to the gardens. "Wait!"

I run after him and catch his arm. "Don't pretend you care!" he snarls, hurt and anger marring his tone. "Not after--" he breaks off and tries to rip his arm away from me, but I am stronger than he is.

"It's not what it looks like," I plead.

"Oh really?" he says, raising an eyebrow. "Then tell me what it was."

I tell him what happened, the whole thing. The nectar, my wing, Key, Lock's name... all of it.

By the time I'm finished, Evil Devin's face has relaxed. He lets me finish instead of interrupting like he did at the beginning.

"So... you don't like Lock?" he asks.

I shake my head. "Not like that. I didn't come here for him, Evil Devin. I came here for you."

I raise our joined hands in the moonlight. "And I'm here to stay."

We watch the moon rise in the sky, my head resting on his shoulder. A little while later, I hear his breathing even out and deepen, and I know he's fallen asleep. I stand up and smile at him. He's been so patient through everything. I hope I see him around the CB on the few AE threads there are after this ball is over.

Bong. The clock strikes nine, and I realize I've been at a ball for 2 hours and I haven't had a major panic attack yet.

I'm so happy, just sitting here with Evil Devin, that I fall into sleep myself.

*Cracks knuckles* You better not! That boy is mine! I mean, my CBer forced me to go with him, and I don't like him in the slightest.

Bwahahahaha! Sib, nice and kind, as if! Oi! You are right that Lock does deserve someone nice, but nice and Sib are not two words that go together. Anyway, I'm sorry for not posting. I was out of town this weekend. I did write today, but I also closed the tab twice(!) so I didn't post.

Can we get on with it?

Fine.

~Sib~

After Zoey leaves, I notice how wet and messed up I am. I don't really care that my hair has fallen down, but my skirt is too wet to spread out when I spin.

"Lock, can I clean myself up? I'm sorry, I'll try to to take too long." I say.

"It's fine," He says, "go ahead." I go back to the bathroom. I run my fingers through my hair to try to tame it, and, most importantly, dry my skirt under the hand dryer. Then I go back out to where Lock is waiting.

"So," I say, "Do you want to learn how to swing dance?"

"Sure!" He says.

"It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it." I explain the basic steps and a few spins.

 "You should see two people who really know what they're doing dancing." I say "There's some really crazy moves out there. There's one where the girl does a back flip around the guy's arm, and a different one where she ends up sitting on his shoulder."

"You have to teach me those." He says.
"Ha! I don't know them. I just know of them. I would teach you the two mildly cool moves I know, but I don't know what the guy does. I would prefer if we didn't try to figure it out because of the too high chance of me landing on my head."
"That sounds like a perfectly good reason not to try it." I laugh at the tone he used.
"It was really impressive how willing you were to help Zoey. If someone told me I had to go into the boy's bathroom, I wouldn't have just run in, no matter how much I trusted my sibling."
"Key had said she was going to die. I wasn't just going to let her." He brushes aside my compliment.
"Fair point. But still, you didn't even hesitate. And of all the coincidences that your name was the healing charm! Who would have thought?"
"I know, right? And now we both know a healing charm, that might come in useful." We continue to chat and dance, past the clock striking nine.

And I can't figure out a way to end this post. I'm just going to stop now.

Key~I lean heavily against Pseudonym I'm to tired to think...my head is spinning...so tired... "What happened?????? Where am I??? Is...is she okay??? I...I'm so sorry!" I begin to cry from tiredness. "I didn't mean to make a scene! I can't stop my visions...I wish...." I stop speaking...I'm dizzy and I can't think. If only things were easy...
