Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hey guys;I n

Hey guys;

I need advice. You see; I feel like everytime I talk to someone, I listen to them at first, but then I instantly turn the conversation to an "all about me conversation." How can I put in my comments, but not make it an "all about me" or "pity me" situation? (Hope this makes sense. . . )

Also, I just wanted to let you know that I probably won't be on Cricket that much during the month of May; my family will be doing a "no screen" month, but I'll check on you guys and see how all of you are doing when I can.

Thanks! Each and every one of you are amazing, and I love the support that you give to everyone here!

Oh, that can be difficult at times. The biggest thing to remember is H.E.E.L (pronounced as heal, or heel). It stands for heart, ears, eyes, and lips, in that order. Heart comes first, be sympathetic toward them. Give all of your heart to someone's conversation, so that little to none of it goes to yourself. Ears come next, because you need to listen, listen to every word and understand it. Eyes follow, for to listen you must - unless faced with the complication such as blindness... - be able to see and make eye contact. This shows you aren't centered around yourself, but toward what they have to say. Finally, and this is only after all else, you bring forth your voice, or lips. Voice your opinion, falling back onto the other three things. Be sympathetic and understanding, you come after the people you serve. It's kind of like servant leadership, you might be a leader, but you serve your people. Do that with your heart, ears, eyes, and words.

It takes time, and I know it can be difficult. Just follow that, and I promise it will all become easier over time. Remember, H.E.E.L, for it can heal someone's heart and mind for you listening to them, and heal your own for pulling away from ego-conversations. Not that it is a bad thing, we all sometimes need to reflect upon ourselves. I wish you the best of luck!

Also, we'll see you around when you get more internet time! My family is getting rid of internet entirely, so I won't be on as much either.
