Chatterbox: Down to Earth

"Diovald's Dissapearance"

June 21st 2017; Cricket Country

They've gotten stronger. I try to push them away, to hide them, anything to get rid of them,  but they keep coming back. Each day, I feel myself slowly slipping into a depression no one can get me out of. I'm at a loss of what to do now. Without her; I'm nothing. *Groans* Oh Elsa, you've stolen my heart and left a hole there. But the trouble is. . . I don't want it back.

-Sincerely, Diovald

Diovald closed his journal and looked forlornly out the window of his bedroom. What was he going to do? "She's gone. There's nothing you can do, so snap out of it," he chastised himself. "Ugh. What's the use? Without her. . . I'm nothing. I have no purpose, and see no reason for living. It gets worse each day."

He sighed. "I need to talk to Joan."

Slipping off his bed, he quietly crept to the other side of the room without waking his siblings, Puck and Ariel. Taking a deep breath, he shape shifted into a mouse and squeezed out the door, into the room Joan slept.

Puck watched with one beady eye open, the other closed. "What's Diovald doing?" she mused, as she swooped down from the rafters, changing from crow to girl.

"Ariel." She whispered, shaking her twin brother's shoulder,

"Hmm. . . "

"Wake up."

"Puck. . . it's 4 in the morning. . . get some sleep, and let others have their peace and quiet."

"I can't. Diovald's gone."

"Gone?" Ariel sat up in bed. "What do you mean. . . gone?"

"I mean, he's not in his bed. Come on!" She beckoned to the door. "I think he went to go talk to Joan."

"What for?"

"That's what we're about to find out." She giggled and handed Ariel a small pill. "Here; swallow this."

"What is it?"

"My newest invention: Invisipills! See, it's a play on words. Invisible, invisipills. . ."

"I get it. What's it do?"

"They make you appear invisible, like in the name silly! Imagine the possiblites! You could put a sheet over your head, and be a ghost! When people take off the sheet, thinking to see someone underneath, they won't see a thing! You could also whisper lies about other people. . . but that's more mean than mischevious. A great addition to my prank shop, don't you think?"

"Yeah. . . sure." Ariel said nervously. "Have you tried it out yet?"

"Nope!" Puck grinned. "That's the fun of inventing! These pills should work for about 10-15 minutes. However, because I haven't tried them yet, there may be some side effects."

"Such as?"

"Dizziness, nausea, not being able to be seen for a year, (which would be kind of fun),  never be noticed, or. . . "

"What?"

"You could potentially dissapear forever. But anyways, down it goes!" Puck quickly swallowed her pill. "You next."

Ariel shook his head. "Nuh-uh. Last time I tried something you untested, there were disastrous consequences. I'm NOT doing that again. I think I'll just go the old fashioned way."

"How do you do that?"

Ariel shuffled nervously. "I. . . recently discovered a new ability. I can manipulate myself into air so that I can go through walls, and even hover longer than usual. The only downside is that you can still see a faint outline of me, even though I'm sort of invisible."

"Ok, then let's go! We're missing all the action up there."

"Don't you mean: OUT there?"

"Nope! Up." Puck pointed out the tree in the middle of the room as she quietly opened the door. Diovald and Joan we're talking to each other on a lower branch, where Joan slept sometimes.

"Oh."

"Shh. . . I can't hear!" Puck said.

Diovald was talking. "-Can't live without her. . . feel so lonely. . ."

A pause, then Joan spake. "Like Puck. . . Dev. . . memories erased. . . "

"Ugh, I still can't hear!" Puck said. "Think you can get me up?"

"Why? Can't you fly?"

"Yeah, but my invisipills can only do so much. Otherwise, if they fell into the wrong hands, then we'd have a world crisis to fix."

"Fine." Ariel sighed. "Hop on."

Puck climbed onto Ariel's back the best she could, as both of them were invisible and Ariel floated them up to a branch just barely below one Joan and Diovald were on.

"You miss her that much?"

"That's Joan." Puck whispered to Ariel.

A pause. "I do."

"And you're sure about this?"

"Yes." Diovald nodded, which made the branch above Ariel and Puck shake a little bit. "I am."

"Very well. I'll tell Ariel and Puck in the morning-"

"Tell us what?" Puck said a little too loudly. Both Joan and Diovald looked around them.

"Puck, I know you're here."

"Whoops." Puck whispered.

"You too Ariel. Congratulations on finding your new ability." Joan said as both Ariel and Puck floated up on one of Ariel's clouds. Puck was just beginning to reappear. "Puck, how are you invisible?"

"Um. . ."

Joan shook her head. "Nevermind, don't tell me now. I'm glad you both are here, as we have some family business to discuss. I'm assuming Galahad is still asleep?"

The twins nodded. "He sleeps like a rock. You can never wake him up."

"Just as well." Joan nodded. "Anyways, Diovald has something he would like to tell us. Diovald?”

Diovald took a deep breath as he turned towards the twins. “I’m. . . I’m leaving Cricket Country.”

“WHAT?!?!” The twins exclaimed.

“But. . . but why?” Puck stuttered. “Don’t you like it here?”

“Yes, I love it here, the friends, the memories, everything. Especially you. But. . . I miss Elsa. Joan offered to erase my memories, but I don’t want that. If I stay, my depression will only grow deeper. If I leave, I have a chance of finding her again. It’s a slim chance. . . but I know I can’t keep living like this. I need to find her. Please understand.”

Puck nodded. Crossing the border of Cricket Country was a big deal, once AEs crossed, they usually never came back. If you left for a little bit, you could come back. If you left forever. . . but that was another story to tell.

“We’ll miss you Diovald.” Puck said reaching over to hug him. “I miss Elsa too, so please, if you happen to find her, tell her Puck says hi.”

Diovald nodded. “I will.” He looked over in Ariel’s direction where Ariel was quietly crying.

“Ariel-”

“It’s ok bud. I know, and I understand. I’d feel the same way about Saphira if she left, and I’d probably try to find her too.”

Diovald smiled. “Thanks for understanding. Promise you’ll tell Galahad for me?”

“We promise.” Joan said. “And we’ll be up early in the morning to say goodbye.”

“Diovald-promise you’ll write to us?”

“If I can.”

“Also. . . can I have your boots please?” Puck asked eagerly. “I’ve been dying to wear them ever since we met!”

Everyone laughed. Diovald smiled. “Of course you can Puck.”

“Alright, family meeting over. Diovald, you should probably get some sleep.”

“Yeah, you’re right. Goodnight guys.”

“Goodnight Diovald.”

Diovald shapeshifted into a crow and swept down into his room. The last thing he heard was Joan talking to Puck about her invisipill.

~4 hours later~

It was a chilly morning as the Black family huddled outside. Chatterboxers houses were  behind them, the Country’s borderline in front.

“Well, I guess it’s time for me to go.” Diovald spoke up.

“Yeah, I guess.” Ariel said as he kicked the dirt.

Puck handed Diovald a couple of her invisipills, and itching powder smoke bombs. “In case of danger.”

Ariel gave him a whittling knife. “To make pan pipes. Just like I taught you.”

Galahad kissed Diovald on the cheek goodbye, and then shyly slunk back to the rest of the group. Hugs were exchanged once more, and DIovald stood back.

“Good luck Diovald.” Joan said gently. ‘We’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss you too.”

Puck, Ariel, Galahad, and Joan all watched as Diovald took a deep breath and stepped over the country border line, for good.

“Think he’ll find Elsa?” Puck asked turning to Joan.

“Yeah. He’s tough, and determined. When you have that, there’s nothing that can get in your way.”

~A week later~

Diovald was still trekking across a barren desert. There was a hot sun overhead, and earlier he had run out of drinking water.

Ahead, he could see a town. Or was that a hallucination? Nonetheless, he kept going, until he fainted at the front gates.

When he woke up, he saw a girl with blonde hair, blue eyes, and cat ears looking curiously down at him.

DIovald smiled. “Hello Elsa,” before he fainted once again.

----------------------------------------------------------
So; if you've  read all of this, good for you! If you just skipped to the end, go back and read this. Please, and thank you.
Anyways, WE'RE BACK!!! (Probably no one noticed though, so yeah. We haven't posted much, but we HAVE been peering in the background and seeing how everything's going.)
So, you can see we have had some new changes to the Black family.
Diovald, (my AE) has left to find Elsa, (Cho C's AE, and the love of his life) so at the moment, I have only 2 AEs: Puck and Ariel. I just felt like he wasn't being a part of me anymore, so I wrote this. And, if you're curious, Diovald DID indeed find Elsa. I'm in contact through email with Cho C., so Diovalad and Elsa are still able to contact each other. So, technically, he's still alive just he's not going to be on Cricket.
I may come up with another AE, but I think I'm going to wait at the moment. Puck, Ariel, and Galahad are pretty emotional about the dissapearance of Diovald.
Ariel has a new ability; he's able to manipulate himself into air. So now, he has three abilities: hovering in air, (just a few inches off the floor,) making a cloud, and manipulating himself into air. (The only downside is that he's not completely invisible, you can still see a shadow of him. He can also carry something that is just about the same weight as him; such as Puck.)  He's also starting to teach others to make pan pipes.
Puck is still as mischevious as ever, and continues to invent new pranks., especially for her prank shop. *A boom and explosion is heard in the background* So yeah, she's doing great. If you are wondering about this line in the story above, which Puck overheard: "Like Puck. . . Dev. . . memories erased. . . " I, um, may have erased Puck's memories of Dev. She was becoming so sulky around the house, staying in her room all the time, never her mischevious self, when one day she came to me begging to have her memories erased. I did some hunting around, and found a spell from a friend which could erase certain memories. So, she remembers everything else besides her crush on Dev.
Galahad continues to practice his sword, sparring, and jousting skills along with his horse Arthur. The only change he's had is getting a horse, and being a deep sleeper. :)
And as for me? *Shrugs* I'm doing just fine. Not sure if anyone remembers me, which brings me to one question.
Should I leave? I don't know, I've been pondering this question for a while and wondering if I should. I was in the same generation as Scylla, Clouded Leopard, SydneySong, Cho C., Icy, Autumn Leaves, (who was known as Shadowmoon back in the day,) Daisy, and a bunch of others I'm probably forgetting. I just feel like I'm not being noticed. And I know it's kind of my fault for not getting noticed, and I'll try to post more often now that summer has started, but yeah.
So what do you guys think? Should I stay, or should I leave?
Anyways; we're back, and we're rolling! Hope y'all have a great rest of your day. :)

Aw, thank you Nebula! I spent a lot of time writing this little story, and I'm rather proud of it.

And, it's good to see you too. :) See you around with your AEs!

Aw. . . I would miss you too Dragonrider! Your Tomboy Club RP was the very first RP that I joined here, which began my love for Cricket!
Also, I think that I will stay. :)

*sniffs* That was so sad! And happy at the same time. It was bittersweet...

I think you should only leave if you want to, Joan. I've thought about leaving a lot of times too, but I figure I'll just leave when I leave, on the day no threads interest me and I decide not to check Cricket. It's up to you, though. I know I'll miss you a lot if you decide to go!

Maybe we could make a thread for older CBers to reminisce about the olden days. If there were anybody left from our generation then that would be the best way to catch them. I think it might be refreshing to have a thread like that.

Yes indeed, writing this little story made me cry just a little bit. "Bittersweet" as you would put it.

I think I'll stay, and do the same thing that you will do; just leave when no more threads interest me, and I'm ready to no longer check up on Cricket. Besides, I don't think I'm totally ready to break ties with the people I've met here, and the memories I've made.

That would be an amazing idea to make a thread for older CBers to remember the old days. There would be so many memories and good times to remember. . . before we lost a bunch of CBers.

Anyways, thanks for the advice Micearenice! By the way, I love your Ski Lodge so far! I can't wait to keep reading more!

No, don't you dare leave! Just think how more depressed that'll make me about how the CB isn't the same as it was! (I, too, feel like you do about not getting noticed...join the club!)

*Sniff* I never knew Diovald that *sniff* that well, but I'm *sniff* sad that he's gone. *Starts wailing in unison with Emerald*

Arwen, it's okay. Arwen, Arwen! Oh dear. Arwen, think how much you love Zeon! Now think what would happen if he left! And Diovald is happy now, he can see Elsa again! Don't get so emotional about it.

She has a point. Gosh, though. No more Diovald. Ah, well. Hey Puck, d'you wanna have a prank duel? *Unpacks mini-watermelon gun* Do you?

...Jarnen, put the watermelon gun away.

Thansk Leafpool! You're right; that would just make everyone else feel depressed and sad, wouldn't it?

I've decided to stay. Why don't we try to make the other CBers who feel left out at times feel welcome here? What do you say?

Puck: I say. . . PRANK DUEL!!! *Mini itching powder smoke bombs explode in the air*

Me: Word of advice? Duck and run as fast as you can before you get caught in the prank duel. *Runs away from the scene as bombs continue to explode in the air*

I'm pretty sure Icy and I joined around the same time, because she came on Kyngdom not long after I did. So I think I'm in that same generation. Don't leave unless you really think you need to, though. I still remember! And when I first joined, all those people you mentioned who were on before me, all those well-known people, I thought they were awesome. Including you. Please don't leave. :)

Thanks Leeli! I don't think that I will leave just quite yet; I'm not ready to leave and cut the ties of the friends I've met and memories I've made here.

Aw, Joan, we would all really, REALLY miss you if you left. Heck, I remember that one time you said you were leaving forever I think I cried a little. We would all miss you A LOT. I'm like just now getting back from an absence, so I know it can be a bit rough to get back into it.

Goodbye, Diovald. I only met him briefly, but I can tell that he will be missed. We wish you safe journies.

Oh gosh, Ronan, you're so sappy. But Dio, if you can hear this, your siblings loved you a lot, and.... well, the rest of us did too. You'll be missed.

*Mutters* NOW who's the sappy one, Saphira?

*ignores him* *fiddles with hair* You gonna be ok Ariel? I..... I know what it's like, losing a sibling. I've lost several, like Richard, Tara, and Echo. They..... it hurts for a while, but it gets better. *smiles* I guess it's just you and Puck now.

*And Galahad. Don't forget the CAPTCHAs*

Yeah, Luna, and Galahad. You three take care of each other. *scuffs ground with toe* Ugh, I am so bad at this emotional stuff. Just..... I love you Ariel. And those are some cool new powers. *grins* we should totally try out some new fighting moves. We could totally do a sick flamethrower move with fire and air. *starts rambling about fighting moves with excited and slightly scary excitement*

*grabs computer* Oooooook.... that was weird. I should reprogram this thing to prevent AE rambling.

He. Too late. I've already tried.... Never works. *shakes head* I would give you a potatoe for the long post, but I don't know if anyone would understand that so...... yeah. XD

OH MY GOODNESS LUNA I AM NOT SAYING THAT CAPTCHA. GO WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP YOUNG LADY.

Thanks Autumn! *Hugs* I'm really glad that you are still here, and are my friend. :)

Ariel: *Stares down at his toes* Yeah. . . I think I'll be ok for now. I'll miss Diovald a lot, he was more like a big brother to me than a little brother. He always gave me great advice when I needed it. However, he DID promise to write, so we'll hear from him often.

I love you too, and nothing would make me happier than training and trying out some new fighting moves. A stick flamethrower move with fire and air would be so cool. .  .  *Rambles on about fighting moves, the same way Saphira did*

Me: *Sigh* They're perfect for each other. . . :)

Anyways, thanks again Autumn! *Hugs*
