@Admins:

When the Diversity War ended, you did a brilliant job of trying to settle the dispute so everyone would be happy. Your compromise - to allow characters that were LG but not discussion of the issues - did a great job of keeping the CB diverse but also safe. It's a big issue, and a discussion could easily hurt people's feelings and cause an argument.

However, recently it's come to my attention that the former part of this compromise may not be being fufilled to its fullest capacity. Some CBers that I've spoken to told me that you've been cutting off some of their posts that make their characters LGBTQAI+ - especially ones concerning gender (not necessarily sexual preference). I understand your main criteria is no serious romance, but I'm not sure how gender applies to that. Is there a reason that our characters can't be trans/fluid/queer/etc anymore?

Again, thank you for all that you do. You've done a great job at keeping the CB safe for everyone.

We did decided to allow LG characters. And your understanding of no serious romance is correct. We can't put every specific circumstance into a rule. Every comment will still be reviewed by an Admin according to our guildelines of being appropriate for even our youngest readers. For further understanding, please refer to comments from BHR here:

Admins, I understand what you're saying perfectly, and I agree wholeheartedly with what BHR has been saying. I'm not asking that you allow complete discussion of LGBTQAI+ issues, because that's a delicate topic. What's your reasoning behind this?

The reasoning is that we had an editorial discussion of some length and came to that decision. Each comment is reviewed individually after it comes in.

Admins, I'm sorry, but that's not really an answer. I'm perfectly willing to listen to whatever reasoning you have. I'm not disrespecting your decision. But I also feel we have a right to know why exactly you've been censoring certain things. If your reason is valid, then of course I'll accept it, and we can move on! But without knowing what the reason is, I have no way to gauge the situation, or respect your decision. If you feel that you can't say it to us, then evidently the reason isn't good enough.

This is one of the reasons:
Many parents don't wish their
children to be confronted with such issues online and wish to educate
them in their own time in their own ways. Mature topics are not in keeping with the mission of Cricket.

What's the line you cross to make something serious romance? Kissing?

We can't list specifics. You'll know if we don't post something you submit.

I guess I can't give specifics, but I do want to add: very mature topics. Like... Oh, I don't really know. Adult topics. Teen book/show things. Basically, anything most parents ban their kids from reading. That should be enough explanation, friend.
