Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Through the Motions

This isn't the second part of my gift (that'll take a while because I need inspiration but STILL not an excuse for myself!) but this is a bit of poetry. I hope you all enjoy and find beauty in its message:

Through the Motions

I know we call this home

But I still feel at sea

Show them how to lead

Don't leave them hungry

Chasing dreams

In life, we choose ways

In differences are beauty

It leads me to call this home

Yet sometimes we are called

Onto the waters

Where our feet may fail

In oceans deep

Our trust will stand

For the window to our souls

Is tied together as so

It will never fail

We will call upon our names

Eyes above the waves

For I am yours and you are mine

A home within the seas

Do not lose faith, dear

We will walk upon the waters

To shores of loving arms

Our home, together and free

You are unique to I in face

In voice, in mood, in self

Yet I find you all the same

In beauty and life, my dear

So show them how to lead

Don't leave them hungry

Chasing dreams

Of things that I could have given up

Whom then shall we fear?

Oh no, you never let go

Through every high and every low

We stay strong through the storm

Keep on strong and never let go

So show them how to lead

Don't leave them hungry

Chasing dreams

Of things that I could have given up

Thank you! It was inspired by some music I was listening to while I wrote it.

This is beautiful! It's abstract yet understandable at the same time...those qualities make it functionable for a lot of things, and for plenty of interpretation. When I read it, it spoke to me personally because it almost seemed to connect with something I had been feeling at the moment.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks, and you are welcome, Owlgirl! I had one meaning in my head, but as I was writing, it was fluctuating between one idea and another. So in turn, I wanted it to mean something special to everyone. I am glad you connected to it like that! Wow, that just made my day 100% better.

Did you happen to be listening to Oceans by Hillsong United?

YES! I was hoping someone would recognize those bits. That wasn't the only song though, do you think you can figure out the other ones? Oh, and do you think including the lyrics in were a good idea?
