We have a garden this year for the first time, using the Square Foot Gardening method by Mel Bartholemew (I hope I spelled that right.) It's a cool method - grows as much as possible in small spaces. Things that normally grow out - like pumpkins and squash - you grow up on a trellis. The stems just grow thicker to support the weights. Pretty cool. We're getting radishes already, and our carrots are looking good. Our potatoes are growing like mad, and everything else - lettue, tomatoes, cilantro, pumpkins, beans, beats, etc. - is doing really well. :D

Um... I LOVE LOVE LOVE mushrooms.  Hardly any people I know like them, but I love them.  We even eat mushroom burgers sometimes, instead of regular burgers.  Just put one of those big  Portobello mushrooms on buns with cheese or whatever else you like.  YUM! (I am not a veggie though.)

We have mushrooms - little ones - on the little bit of grass in our back yard, so when I let my hamster play out there (safely contained, of course) I have to watch and make sure she doesn't try to eat them. And we had a pool party at our house Friday, and some obnoxious little kid kept squirting my friends and me with water guns that shot really hard, so we dunked him. Hard. Then he came into the deep end (for revenge, I think) and got in trouble cause he was supposed to stay in the shallow end. Anyway, that was pleasantly random.

Lucky, you have a hamster. Doesn't anyone else MOW??????? I have to mow today or tomorrow because my mom wants to have it done before it rains. AGAIN. I just started mowing this year. On Sunday (the last time I mowed,) I mowed over some mushrooms. That's where I got the idea for this thread. The waterguns thing I just put in.

I LOVE THE TASTE OF MUSHROOMS! They're so delicious! R~D~, thanks for posting! I never thought I'd meet someone who liked them as much as I do. And Yuiop, it's always really cool to see those little inedible mushrooms growing. They're just beautiful!

My family has a garden. A very non-organized garden. we've had a garden eversense we moved in to the house. We have like, eleven fruit tree's. Some tomato's, celantro, dill, cucumber, potato's, strawberry's, peppermint, clover (not planted), bee balm (for bees), mlkweed (for butterflies), rasberry's, blueberry's, lavender, lettuce and we also have some other stuff, *looks around* I don't remember what. We might have carrots. I don't mow yet. The backyard is big and the mower thingie is a little weird. Probably part of the reason I can't mow is because dad burned his hand on something on the mow thingie. We also have some maple tree's, we did not plant them. Well we planted one. Each winterwe make syrup.
