Update

Hey, eveyone!

I can't remember the last time I posted anything here. How are all of you doing? I don't see many familiar faces. Ashlee, Abigail, Leafpool,  Leeli, Violet, but not many others.

Hi!

I'm S.E. I started here in November 2013 after being on CRR since March/April 2013. I like writing and reading. I'm a Tolkienite, hate Harry Potter, love Tolsto, Orwell, and Dostoevskey. That sort of thing.

I've written... 9 books at this point? Plus a dozen novellas written between kindergarten and 3rd grade that are just... no.

I'd love to be friends with all of you, so tell me about yourselves.

Okay, signing off. Nice to look back on all of you (and I'll definitly be back on VDay 2019)

-S.E.

(Oh, Mei-xue, the captcha says meix. Hi.)

ASHLEE! Hi! It's been so long, wow. I'm "epicpenzzz" on Nano and my account is kind of screwy on YWP because of the reboot... but anyway, that sounds like a cool place to live! Out here in the suburbs of Boston it can be frustratingly busy. And in Boston it can be worse.

If you want to finish stuff, write what you're really passionate about. I'm bizarre; I'll write 20,000 in one night and fill an entire notebook within hours, but then take days to write the 2 or 3 sentences I need to finish a chapter of another piece. Just keep at it.

S.E.!!!! *Freaks out and runs around in circles* Yaaaaayyyy!!! Confetti gun! *Confetti rockets into the air*

*Stops short and looks at S.E. and Leeli* What the heck? How can anyone hate Harry Potter? *Bursts into mock tears* Boohooosobsob. Tolkien rules, though!

How do you pronounce Dostoevskey? Doh-stoh-ehv-skee? Dost--that reminds me of Ye Olde English! Forsooth, and 'tis true that I am a greate fan of the language.

Um...let's see. What's up with me. Well, today after dinner my big (nearly 19) brother is going to dye my hair red! He dyed it blue for me a couple weeks ago and now that it's faded out, I'm getting red! (My brother dyes his hair frequently and has cool hairstyles--he's also the kind of person that wears [artfully] ripped jeans...he also has a lip ring, eyebrow ring & an ear stud--blech. Also, one tattoo. But he looks really cool most of the time. :) )

ooh, I love tattoos. What's your brother's tattoo of? Red hair sounds amazing! Are you going to bleach it first, or do you have light enough hair to make it easier? I've always considered dying my hair green, but I probably won't at this point.

Are you interested in getting tattoos?

How could anyone love Harry Potter? *confused face* I actually haven't read it yet. My dad did and he didn't care for it. I don't really have any interest in reading it, but what confuses me is that it seems like everyone either REALLY LOVES IT or REALLY DOESN'T. Most people seem to love it, though. Huh.

Hey, S.E., I'm Mango. Obviously, I like mangoes and my favorite color is (matcha) green. What do S. and E. stand for? I've always been confused by that...

Anyways... I'm trying to ignore the hate Harry Potter part... Nope, can't do it. Personaly, I love the Harry Potter series, though I admit it has flaws (plays pretty heavily into some insulting stereotypes, etc.). I hate The Cursed Child, I feel like that is a horrible blemish on the Harry Potter universe, though. Do you mind telling me your reasons? I'd like to hear them, when someone tells me they hate Harry Potter, usually they've only seen the movies and the problems they have don't really apply to the books.

Congrats on your nine books. Though I feel you on those novelas. Personally, I am not very good at developing an interesting story.

About myself: I'm one of those annoying people that likes waking up early, for the most part likes school, plays an instrument (piano), likes gardening, is a decent cook, and likes most cleaning.

I don't think anyone except maybe two or three people (and probably some of the admins) know what at least the S stands for. If you dig around, it's somewhere on older posts.

I've read the Harry Potter books loads of times, trying to like them, but I find them flawed. The world is interesting (not with some of the holes in society and stuff but, eh) but the system of magic is heavily contridictorary and there are many  flaws within the books. The premise in unteresting, but unsatysfying, and many of the characters are flat.

The writing style lacks the flavor that would add more style to the books. I'm not saying that they are horrific, but I find them seriously over-hyped.

The only thing I really like about them is Draco malfoy (duh) and some of the insight onto racial barriers within the world. I really appreciate the ability the books had to get people to read, but I personally just have not been able to like them.

The Cursed Child... for me, Harry Potter isn't fantastic, and Cursed Child I refuse to consider canon. Basically, I love the idea of the world and elements of the plot (also Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, Hermione, and Umbridge as characters) but the books themselves I cannot like.

I've seen the movies, and I'm sad at some of the stuff that they cut out. I love Emma Watson (and Tom Felton, though in the movies Malfoy is a much less interesting character thna in the books) and the images I had of the characters was destroyed by some of the movie portrayals.

Overall, I felt the movies were reasonable in and of themselves, but they don't compare to the world of the books.

I also love getting up early (usually 4:30 or 5) and usually also go to bed pretty late (10:00 on a great night and 1 or 2 on a bad one, plus I pull all-nighters to often because I can't sleep).

Well, nice to meet you. What do you like to cook? Possibly.... mangoes? ;)
