Dear Admins.

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Dear Admins.

Dear Admins.

A while ago, I found a really old website called the Unofficial CB Blog. Made by some really old CBers in 2008 or something.

There wasn't really a lot on it, but one thing caught my attention.

The person that made the blog had a suggestion. Just a suggestion, but it really made me think. She said that maybe, if CBers wanted to exchange emails they could email the Admins, and basically send their email addresses through the Admins so that no one's email is posted on the internet for all to see. Because when a CBer leaves, it's like...well, it's like you just saw your best friend for the last time before she moved but then you realized that you forgot to ask what her new address is, and she doesn't have an email address and you don't know her parents' phone number. Basically, you lose all contact. If we did an email exchange, (or phone number if someone doesn't have an email address) then we would be able to contact our friends even if they leave the Chatterbox.

Just something for you to think about.

I'm sorry, but we're not allowed to collect or match addresses. People are always welcome to submit comments to be posted on Chatterbox.

Wow, I should check that website out! Cool idea, even if it isn't possible under the CB standards. If you want though, you can exchange emails with other CBers on sites such as NaNo YWP or Camp NaNo.

You can?? I thought you weren't allowed to. I don't think my mom wants me to do NaNo though.

I just get so jealous sometimes, because there are CBers that have each other's emails or have Skyped with each other or even met each other in real life...and by the time I'm old enough to do NaNo, a lot of my old friends might be gone. I think Cho, Daisy, Katy, the Riddler, and others do NaNo but who knows how long they'll stay.

While NaNoWriMo's main site is only open to writers 13 and older, NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program is open to all young writers under 17, and it's a great place for your first NaNo experience. Of course, writing on your own or sharing on CB are great ways to write a novel, too.

Katydid and Nova made a more recent Unofficial CB Blog (I think Indigo posted on it too... I can't remember if I did or not), but I think it's pretty inactive by now...

I found it and posted on it but the thing is, I don't know if my mom would want me to be putting my email on a website like it because she has access to my emails and I'm pretty sure she reads them all, and she just doesn't understand in depth the CB and what it means to me. Like, I don't think she'd want me emailing people I don't know. She might be more comfortable with it if it was through the admins or something but since that's not a possibility....

*Le-sigh* I guess maybe I'll try bringing up the subject of NaNo with her sometime soon.

Your mother sounds very wise to me, Leafpool. That's why we don't post emails or addresses of other websites.
