Hello, ye denizens

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hello, ye denizens

Hello, ye denizens of the Chatterbox. I am not one of you, as you
may be able to tell. I come from a land known as MuseBlog, of which
many of you have heard. I have but a simple message for all of you.<!--break--> It’s called MuseBlog, not the MuseBlog. I’ve been there for about two and a half years, so I know rather well what it’s
called, and I thought I should set you all straight as well.
Furthermore, it’s not the Muse equivalent of the Chatterbox. Muse has its own web page quite similar to this, with its own version of the Chatterbox. MB is an unofficial site run by a few people who (sometimes) write for Muse
on contract. I should warn you, though: if you’re thinking of migrating
there, proceed with great caution. The format is thoroughly different
and the general rules stricter, and many people from both the
Chatterbox and the Town Hall (the official Muse
forum) would find the populous somewhat unfriendly to them if they use
improper spelling, grammar, capitalization, as well as excessive
off-topicness or immaturity. The culture of MB is also quite different than that of
the Chatterbox, and takes many months or years to learn. My sincerest
apologies if any of you take offense at anything which has been said
here today; I felt it was my duty to educate the masses about MuseBlog.

Have a nice day.

My apologies for the plethora of line breaks. They must've been a byproduct of copying and pasting the message from somewhere else.

Piggy, as a MuseBlog poster of one and a half years, I'd have to thoroughly agree with what you've stated here. The Chatterbox and MuseBlog are different places entirely, with different people, topics, operating systems, policies, and overall atmospheres. While the two both have their pros and cons, it would definitely be a bad idea to try and interchange the two as one and the same. That's all I have to say here. Good day to you, sir.

ARG!!  It's not THE Chatterbox!!  Just like MuseBlog, it's JUST Chatterbox!!!  :(  (Admin, is Box capitalized??)

Oh yah, and that's why I haven't joined MuseBlog.  :)

Um, no offense, but why is it such a big deal if we call it THE MuseBlog or if they call it THE Chatterbox?

As for (The) Chatterbox, I myself don't mind much, seeing as I'm not a frequent poster or otherwise connected personally. Putting a "The" in front of MuseBlog, however, I'm a bit against. I just think it sounds more impersonal, as if it's something I don't care about at all. And it's as if you were pronouncing someone's name all wrong, which I'm pretty sure has happened to most people at some point in their lives, and by golly is it annoying. Maybe I'm a little obsessive, but that's just how I feel. And it can't hurt to strive for accuracy.

No offense, but perhaps you'd like to look at the FAQs and the Rules to clarify the appearance of the word "the" and the noncapitalization of "box".

I looked at the rules and FAQ's on both websites, and I don't get it.

Ok, it doesn't matter, but I'm just saying, practically none of us say "the" before it, and it sounds better. I just thought I'd point that out because you all are so touchy about MuseBlog. I could care less.

Oh, and I didn't know there was a FAQ on Chatterbox! So don't be snotty about it!!!

I think they should change it to be Chatterbox with out 'the' because it sounds better, more official!

I also thought you might want to know what the 'locals' call it. Sorry if I got you upset. I seriously wasn't trying to.

On the contrary, Miss Laura, I'd have to say that it DOES matter. Without being touchy about these things, we woul have no structure to protect, and everything would become a hopeless mess. Call it what you like, but MuseBlog does not, and never did, have a "the" before it.

Oh, I never thought it did, I was talking about Chatterbox.  :)

Ok, I read it, but as I said, it really doesn't matter. Plus, it you look at it closely, you'll see they use both. At the top, it doesn't have 'the', on the Qs it does. Again, I'm sorry if you got upset.

Okay, people, calm down, no need to get heated. I was just observing the official pages here, all of which pointed to my not necessarily correct conclusion. Let's not become accusatory; that would only bring unwanted strife.

Hello, Piggy. Another note about MuseBlog culture. You can get information about the culture from surfing old threads using the search bar.
