Reintroduce Yours

Reintroduce Yourself

'Ello everyone, today I feel like reintroducing. Not just myself, but maybe we all write an "about me"! For one, many of you peeps don't know me too well, and I don't really know a ton about you. Same goes for a lot of the older ones here who aren't too active so reintroductions could be nice. Say whatever you want - why you have your name (although there is already a really epic thread for that), hobbies, whatever you want. Just enjoy and get to know all another once more! I'll start:

Hello, everyone! My name is Ashlee, and I am your fellow intense Whovian and Potterhead. I swear I will get you to love both if you don't already! I am also about to get into Sherlock, which I know for a fact I will love. I am a big gamer (COD, AC, and such) and even watched an entire world championship for a game I don't even own, just because I wanted to learn the maps. Cheers to OpTic gaming (they won the HWC) and Team Liquid! You guys are awesome. I live in a tiny town of 400, homeschooled, and have four younger siblings (a bro and 3 sisters). I am also a big computer nerd. History nerd. Everything nerd! Not to mention human/nature photographer, artist, writer, and avid reader. Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever read Cricket before, although I used to read Faces and Stone Soup (not by Cricket, but Faces is). Mmm... yep, and I am also happy to say I've been here since I was 9, back in 2010. Cheers! Nice to meet you all. Alsoooo, I am your fellow Monkwee and coder, which you shall learn about soon enough! *Cough cough*

Hello, everyone, I am Dragonfruit and I have been getting Cricket magazine since I was eight. I love Sherlock, Harry Potter and a Series of Unfortunate Events. I really love to read, draw, sing, dance, climb trees and worship koalas. I have been overseas exactly 0 times in my life, but when I grow up I want to travel the world.

I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Ahhh, ultimate nerd alert! Cheers, I love all of those things. I mean, I haven't watched (or read) Sherlock yet but I know I'll love it. It's nice to meet you, Dragonfruit! *Holds out hand to shake*. Yep, I've never been overseas either. Have you traveled to other countries or- wait, I just realized you were in Australia! Super lucky! Is it cool there with all the koalas?

Nice to meet you, Ashlee! *shakes hand*

I love it in Australia, there are heaps of animals everywhere (I love animals). To be honest, though, we don't actually see that many koalas. I have seen 2 in the wild in my whole life.

This looks interesting, I'll give it a go.

Hi! I'm St.Owl! You can call me pretty much anything relating to this. Owly, Owl, Owlster, and St. are just a few of the nicknames I've been given. I'm thirteen and in eighth grade. I live in NYC. I have a very smoochie poochie called Bluebell - she's a husky mix and super cute.

I'm an avid reader and writer, like everybody here. I've read Harry Potter through thirteen times. My other favorite is The Book Thief. There are many more, of course, but those are my top two. I watch Doctor Who, Sherlock, Star Trek (I'm on Next Gen right now), Stranger Things, and Supernatural (season 2). My favorite movie is The Princess Bride - and yes, I've read the book too! I also loved Anastasia and the X-Men series. I love rock music; my top bands (in all genres) are The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, The Head and the Heart, Regina Spektor, The Punch Brothers, Cory Chisel (and the Wandering Sons), Zee Avi, Lindsey Stirling, and U2.

As for hobbies . . . reading and writing, obviously. I also play piano and violin in terms of instruments, and sing occasionally, wth my piano. In sports I play baseball and soccer. I also love hiking. I'm also learning how to draw - I downloaded FireAlpaca and got myself a drawing tablet, and under careful tutelage, I'm getting (slightly) better.

As for magazines. I get Cricket, obviously, and through my school I'm going to start getting Cicada. I used to get Muse, but I think somebody discontinued my subscription (probably because it combined with Oddyssey.) I also still get Spider - I know it's way below my reading level, but it's super cute and I still enjoy it! Aaaand lastly, Stone Soup and National Geographic. Yeah. Lots of magazines.

I think that's it; if you want to ask me more questions (please do) just poke me!

Hello, St. Owl, it's nice to meet you. I love The Princess Bride, too! *gasps* I love Queen! What's your favourite song?

*shakes your hand*

Honestly, I love Flash! It's so quick and catchy and fun. But it's also a movie theme, which I had no idea about until my parents told me. I thought it was - and I view it as - a song making fun of the stereotypical hero.

The top three songs in The Platinum Collection are also favorites of mine: Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, and Killer Queen. All really good.

*hyperventilates*

YOU LIKE THE PRINCESS BRIDE?? AND THE BOOK?? AND STAR TREK?? AND THE NEXT GEN OF STAR TREK?? AND SHERLOCK??

Are you certain you aren't me in disguise? :)

I never actually introduced myself, so here is a good place to do it!

Hi! My name (Not my real name, of course, but what you all know me as) is Pepper Star. The only nickname sort of thing I have on here is Pepper. I live in a smallish town in upstate New York, with my parents and my wonderful puppy, Badger. Where I live gets cold and miserable in the winter, with a big snowstorm in March or April. I am not good with heat. At all. I have a really good friend who goes on here, Blue Smoke, who lives where I do too.

I am pretty introverted and bookish. My favorite activities include running Cross Country, reading, writing, spending time with my puppy, and organizing/interior designing stuff. I seriously love so many books, and the ones I've been focusing on lately are A Tyranny of Petticoats, Midnight at the Electric, Scythe, To Kill A Mockingbird, The True Meaning of Smekday and some comic collections; Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County, Poncho and The Far Side. I play both violin and french horn, and I am able to slowly, painstakingly able pick out simple tunes on the piano. I am working on learning how to play the fife. Mostly, though, I focus on violin.

I used to get Spider, but now I get Cricket. I switched over mainly because Spider was getting harder to enjoy simply because it was below my age level. My favorite colors are blue and black- I wear a lot of black clothing. Fun Fact: I have two names; one in english and one in chinese. Yep, I'm a quarter chinese.

@St. Owl-What's going on in Spider? How are the bugs?

Were you getting Spider when Araña showed up? She's a Spanish spider. So there's something big.

In the September issue, Sam debated whether or not he wanted to turn into a moth or a butterfly. Eventually, he decided to stay a caterpillar - at least for now.

Hi, Pepper Star. Just out of interest, what sort of puppy is Badger? He sounds so cute!!

Thank you St.!

@Dragonfruit, Badger is a mutt. When we got him DNA tested, it showed that he is something like 30% Boxer and 25% Rat Terrier. The rest is unknown. He is about ten months old at this point. I hope the picture below isn't too blurry- my phone has a pretty terrible camera.

Thanks, GreenMango! Bad part about him; he is a highly energetic handful of trouble who just spent a minute tugging on my shoelaces, and in the process, dragging my foot around some too. *Glares at Badger* But he is cute and snuggly half the time, so it's worth it. :)
