I just had my first lesson yesterday, and I kind of have mixed feelings about it. It was fun and all, but when we were trotting, my friend's horse started going faster and faster, and she fell off and broke her arm. The horse will no longer be a lesson horse.

Good news, everyone! I had my second Western lesson a couple days ago, and my dear Rebel was in a much better mood because it wasn't so hot. He refrained from biting me most of the time. I only got thrown onto his neck once, and the bruise on my stomach from the saddle horn is healing quite nicely. Thanks for the advice! =D

Hannah, I had exactly the opposite problem. I am used to having my stirrups longer and holding the reigns in only one hand! I had my second lesson on Friday, and it was much better. Without Anna (the girl who fell off), we are all at a littie-more-than-beginner level.
