Hey Quill! I

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hey Quill! I

Hey Quill! I created this thread especially for Ace and Ocean to get to know each other better and... Stuff. *Snickers* Hailey and Harper can play around on here too. :)

Um, hi Ace. You are looking well today... *Blushes*

I'm so sorry, Ocean! My CBer's been away for the past week, so I have too, and I didn't tell you... You must think the worst of me. I'm so, so sorry. Please forgive me.

Ack! *facepalms* Sorry! Yeah, I've been away with no internet access, so I haven't been on. Sorry for not notifying you or Ocean! We're back now, so hopefully they can continue talking. Sorry again!

*Throw arms around Ace's neck* I missed you! I completely forgive you though. *Smiles* So tell me what you've been doing for the past week!

*blushes* *hugs her back*

Well, I've pretty much just been chilling in the back of Quill's mind while she was on vacation. Hailey taught me how to play poker. She said it was ironic that I don't know how to play, since, you know, my name comes from a card. We also played some Monopoly. I won almost every time. So yeah, nothing special. What about you? Also, um, would you maybe like to, er, see a movie sometime? Or something like that? It's okay if you don't want to, I just thought it might be fun... *realizes he's rambling* *turns beet red* So... um... yeah. I missed you, too.

I'd love to go to a movie with you, Ace! Recently I've been doing stuff like reading books in trees and the like. I really enjoy card games. I've played almost all of the common ones like Egyptian Rat Slap, Poker, Solitare, Black Jack, 21, War, Go Fish, Liverpool Rummy, Gin Rummy, Gin, and many others that my brain can't be bothered to recall at the moment. What are some of your favorites?

My favorite is probably Rummy 500. I've tried playing Solitaire, but I found that I prefer playing with other people. War is a good one, too. Have you ever heard of Acie Ducie? I really like that one, too.

Ummmmm not that I can recall... How do you play? If it's anything like Sticky Jack (another game I've played) then I would probably enjoy it. :) If not then I'd probably like it anyways.

Oh and also Hailey and Harper, if you would like to join in the games you would be welcome... I think. Ace? Thoughts?

It's a betting game, where one person is the dealer. They take two cards from the top of the deck and lay them out face up. Then, after seeing the two cards, you bet however much money on if the next card in the deck is going to be in between the two cards. There's a predetermined lowest amount that you can bet, so you can't bet nothing. If it is in between the two cards, you take as much as you were willing to bet from the pot. If it isn't in between, you put that much in. If you're really sure, you can bet the pot. If you win, you get the entire pot. If you lose, you're out. Example: The two cards laid out are 4 and jack. Suits don't matter in this game. So you have to bet however much on whether the next card is going to be between four and eleven. If the next card is five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten, you win. If it's two, three, queen, king, or ace (this game is high ace only), then you lose and have to put in the money. The game is called Acie Ducie because the best two cards you could get are ace and two. Then you have the best chance of winning. We usually play with nickels, so the lowest you could bet would be five cents.

Did that make any sense? I'm bad at explaining rules, but I did my best.

I'd love to play! *rubs hands in anticipation* I am the card master! I shall crush all opponents! Let us see if Ocean Song is up to the task... *cackles evilly*

I'm good. I prefer to watch. I'll supervise, make sure nobody dies. *looks pointedly at Hailey*

*assumes innocent expression*

*Smiles at Hailey* I admire your spirit, friend. BUT IS IT ENOUGH??? *Laughs kindly* So what shall we play? I'm all in favor of Acie Ducie. It sounds like a mix between Poker and BS. Before you are alarmed I would like to state that BS stands for Bluffing Serpent. Have you ever played it before? It's one of my favorites. Rogue likes to play it with her friends. However her 'poker face' is extremely convincing so she gets away with just about everything... It's actually kind of annoying. It;s a great game though!

Acie Ducie works! Is there a way to play virtual cards? We'll figure it out. One of our CBers could probably pull cards from a deck irl.  I don't think I've heard of Bluffing Serpent. Do you think you could explain it?

Oh, I think it is!

Oh dear...

Sorry. I was busy. Ummm Bluffing Serpent... Well, to start every player gets the same amount of cards. Then, putting the cards face down, beginning with the Ace of Spades, every player puts down a card or cards that have the next number up on them. Say if the last card was a 2, the next player would put down a 3 or 3s. Oh, and you look at your own cards. But you can lie if you don't have the next number up. If somebody thinks you're lying they can call 'BS' or 'Bluffing Serpent'. If you were lying you take the pile. If you weren't and they called 'BS' then THEY take the pile. If you lied and nobody called your bluff, and if you're proud of your lie, you can call 'Peanut Butter', but Rogue and I like to make it a little more epic and so we call 'Snake Bite'. Hope you enjoy playing!

Hey Ocean why don't you, Harper, Hailey, and Ace go play cards in your favorite tree?

Um, okay. Hey guys, would you like to play in my favorite tree? It's a positively gigantic oak tree. Lots of branches, covers a huge area. It's awesome.

Awesome! Sounds super fun. I've never played cards in a tree. Let's definitely play there.

Aw yeah! First one to the top wins.

Absolutely! I might need some help getting to the top, though. Heights aren't really, um, my forte.

I'll help you, Harp.

Great! So it's a win win. Meaning I win.

You're good, Harper. *Smiles* After I race Hailey to the top (and totally dominate 'cause I know the tree better [just sayin']), we'll play cards in the Bluebird Nest. It's the lowest and biggest of the flat places in the entire tree. *Looks at Hailey* READYSETGO!! *Bolts up the tree* *Is halfway up already* Be careful, there's a couple trick branches that I always put up. They fall off when something puts weight on them. *Puts hand on and pushes on nearby branch while holding on to another one* *Pushed branch falls off* See? Tricky! *Smiles and climbs quickly farther up into tree* Good luck!

*appears next to Ocean* BOO!

*facepalms and climbs tree* Sorry about that. We've been kinda pressed for time lately... I brought cards!

Hi again! I got up the tree okay, thanks for understanding! *smiles*

*Isn't even phased by Hailey's sudden appearance* Ah, there you are. *Drops like fifty feet into Bluebird's Nest* *Lands perfectly* You're turn, Hailey! *Looks around* Wait here. *Dashes off* *A minute later returns with a wagon full of pillows and snacks* This is going to be AWESOME!
