Cooks and chefs

Cooks and chefs and eaters of food, come one come all!

If there are any of you out there at least.

Well, assuming that there are, what kind of dishes do you like to cook? Care to share any recipies? Admins and CBers, what are your favorite foods to eat?

And does anyone out here have an obsessive love for fried rice? No?

Well, ok, then, let the food talk begin!

Ooooh . . . spaghetti with meat sauce, turkey with stuffing, cran-orange pecan pie. I also like to eat good, ripe fresh fruit, like the delicious Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado peaches we've had here recently. Plus fresh-baked bread still warm from the oven.

Mmm...you’re making me hungry.

I love lots of food, especially freshly baked pasteries. Yum. My family and I cook a lot, I’ll see if I can find some recipes!

*Slowly raises hand* Hiya. I like to make soufflés, eggs and bacon, lacey pancakes, salmon, pie, cookies, and I plan on learning how to make puff pastry, rough puff, mousse, marzipan, and jam. Ugh, unfortunately I can't rattle any recipes off the top of my head. I really enjoy foods such as my famous dark chocolate soufflé, my dad's popcorn chicken (dipped in ranch and sriracha), my grandfather's corn beef sandwiches, Takis Fuego paired with pretty much any type of sandwich, and of course, fried rice. I love the stuff. Especially when it has salmon and onions in it. Sooooo goooood.

Well, I'm not exactly the world's best baker, but I really enjoy baking bread. Irish soda bread is good, and it's really easy to make. Brown bread (also Irish), is also a favorite of mine, since it's so simple. (When I went to Ireland earlier this year, these breads kind of became favorites of mine, so I looked up the recipies when I came back home.)

I mostly bake, and for about a month I made something like a cake a day, but I stopped because I started to get wrist pains. I do love cake, though, especially angel and devil's food, no frosting. Also my dad's grilled salmon, and Greek holiday bread, which he usually only makes at Christmas. Pomegranates are possibly the best fruit known to me apart from watermelon and honeycrisp apples; I love both the flavor and picking out the seeds, which always remind me of little rubies. And I'll eat mountains of cherry tomatoes or a whole full-sized cucumber if given the opportunity.

Hmm. I don't actually love food all that much, but somehow this is fun to talk about.

Hmm. the only recipe i can think of right now is for Ceaser Salad.

1 head of chopped Romaine Lettuce

1 clove of garlic

a couple anchovies (Amount depends on taste, really.)

as much lemon juice as you can get out of 1 lemon

Enough olive oil to cover the anchovies and garlic with about a quarter inch of oil

mix the garlic, anchovies, lemon juice and olive oil in a half-pint jar and put it in a blender until there are no more chunks, and then put it the fridge until use. To use, pour the dressing over the Romaine lettuce and dig in! (Note: salad serves four as long as there is not a growing twelve-year-old boy in the group. )

XD I don't consider myself a cook or a chef, but I do love to bake! I absolutely adore bread of any kind; whether it be French, cardamon, garlic, or anything else under the sun. My go-to recipe for whenever I feel like baking is chocolate chip cookies, of course. ;) But I've also been experimenting lately with double chocolate cookies and white chocolate nut cookies, which are delish. And also muffins! Of all kinds! Blueberry, almond poppy seed, zucchini, you name it! I'm always on the hunt for new recipes.

The last thing I made was really delicous salad. I dont remember what it was, but it was super good! I think the dressing made it. It was like sesame seeds, lemon juice and oil.

-Brownies

I make a lot more, but I don’t feel like listing all of it right now. I’ll post a recipe later.

I made fried rice for my lunch today. With carrots, hot dog (it was the only quick meat we had lying around ok) green onions, and garlic. There would have been shrimp instead of hot dog if we had any lying around that didn't need to be picked apart from scallops and such.
