Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Has anybody ever

Has anybody ever heard of Bakugan?

Okay, now I feel like some explaining is in order. I used to have a Bakugan, it was a little red dragon. Simple, and I adored it. To this day I have no idea where it came from or where it went. This was when I was, I don't know, three or four. I was a weird kid. I didn't like ponies or robots, nope, just dinosaurs. I had SO MANY DINO toys, and I wouldn't even olay with them. I'd just carry them around.

ANYWAY.

I didn't even know that my little red dragon was called a Bakugan. I just thought it was this little red ball that popped open to be tiny draconic awesomness whenever it touched metal.

Today I found Bakugans in a store and I remembered my little red dragon. I had forgotten all about it for (roughly) ten years. But now I'm sitting in a chair with my new little white-and-blue dragon Bakugan (which is a heck of a lot more complicated than the little red dragon I used to have just sayin' it's freaking awesome) telling you guys all this for who-knows-why.

I just wanted to say that these little things are awesome and they were a long-forgotten peice of my childhood.

Eyyyyy ... I might have had one. A little arctic something. Koala? Kangeroo? I'm not really sure. It's been years, and it's either in storage or long since decimated by the garbage. >.>

But yay for you! Old childhood things like that are awesome. ^^

Yeah it was weird! I walked past a stand of them and I was like "OH MY GOSH I HAD ONE OF THOSE AND I ADORED IT"

Oh my goodness! We used to have a ton of those! I didn't know what they were called; I don't even know how we got them. We had a lot of random toys when I was younger. But yeah we had a bunch! I don't remember many of them but I know one was blue and another was red, and they were weird and you couldn't really tell what they were supposed to be.

I just looked them up and they are freaking cool! I love finding old childhood things in the shops or cupboard and saying "wow I used to love that!"

There used to be an old toy shop near my piano class when I was little which had a unique shade of light green on the sign. For years afterwards whenever I saw that colour it would bring me joy. XD

It’s funny, I too had a dinosaur phase when I was really young. I was obsessed with the show “Dinosaur Train”. I would memorize all these random facts about dinosaurs. This one time I was saying some stuff about the T-Rex to my mom, I said something about how much a T-Rex would consume in a day. I said “A T-Rex consumes (insert number here) pounds of meat everyday!”

“Mom? Are we meat?”

“Yes.”

“Oh.”

That kind of diminished my opinion on dinosaurs. I never really collected any dinosaur toys, I did really like My Little Pony though.

I haven't heard of what RW was talking about, but I used to have a stuffed bunny that I named...something. I think it was BunBun. I never parted from it, except for when I started school, when I was five. Then, one day, my kindergarden teacher said we could bring a stuffed animal to school (why would anyone do that?), and I brought that bunny. I completley forgot about it for around 6 or 7 years, until now. Thanks for bringing this up!

Yeah, remembering childhood stuff is great, it's like finding a piece of yourself again. Hmm. Sounds like a short story prompt!

YES! I still have a box of them in my closet. I had, like ten of them, and a bunch of cards, though I never actually knew how to play. The coolest one I had was a green dragon with a score multiplier die in its mouth, and when you tossed it on a magnetic card and it opened it also spat out the die, like spinning it.

I still think that one's cool.
