I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Okay, update: I did a little research, and it seems that the version of events in Hamilton is pretty accurate, up until the part described in "We Know" -- that wasn't exactly how it went, but that, of course, was likely changed to keep the focus on Burr and Jefferson.
According to a Smithsonian article I found: "When he arrived at the Reynolds home, Maria led him into an upstairs bedroom. A conversation followed, at which point Hamilton felt certain that “other than pecuniary consolation would be acceptable” to Maria Reynolds."
So it seems that she... kind of seduced him? I don't know. But as far as I can tell, she wasn't part of the "scheme" to blackmail Hamilton until Mr. Reynolds came back, at which point she may have been complicit (or she might just not have had a choice, given the other things she said her husband did).
Oh, and also -- between the affair and the publication of the Reynolds Pamphlet, she did get a divorce, and Aaron Burr was the lawyer who helped her!

Would anyone be interested in a Wings of Fire RP? The more I look at it the more I love the Wings of Fire world because a. The Icewings basically have an insane aristocracy government that I love b. The Seawings are democrats but the Skywings are a monarchy and c. dude icewings are just amazing I love them.

Alright guys. Prepare to be wowowowowed.
Aaron Burr's first wife (Theodosia) died from stomach cancer in 1794. 10 years later, he shot Hamilton and sullied his reputation. With his legal and polictical career ruined and his money sparce, it was a good time to plan a stragetic marriage. Which may be one of teh reasons he decided to marry the 19-years-younger Eliza Jumel. Not surprisingly, they decided to separate after 4 months. Eliza needed a good lawyer, so she chose ALEXANDER HAMILTON JR. to help her file the divorce. Eliza said that Burr squandered her fortune (along with other things). A servant named Mariah Johnson testified that she had seen Burr do these... other things... Anyway, the divorce took a loooonnng time. After THREE DANG YEARS, the divorce was finalized by Judge Philo T. Ruggles on September 14, 1836. WHICH HAPPENED TO BE the EXACT day of Burr's death.
