Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

I don't know why, but I feel kind of guilty for like, kind of stealing Peregrine's name. And now I want to get to know them, again I don't know why! (Probably because we have [almost] the same name, and I'm surprised) and here I thought I was so creative! XD

Hey Peregrine Falcon, I understand feeling guilty about picking a name so similar to someone else's.  I've never done it, but I can imagine it and I am fairly certain I would feel a little guilty too.  However there is absolutely nothing wrong with picking a similar name and I am not upset in any way.  Quite the opposite, in fact!  I was surprised (in a good way) when I first saw your name and actually happy.  Someone else seemed to have a common interest in and appreciation of Peregrine Falcons/raptors as me!  I think if we both keep our names as they are there shouldn't be much confusion.

I am not very active, but I do post once in a while.  I hope we can get to know each other better even with my sporadic participation on Chatterbox!

I am curious: what got you interested in Peregrine Falcons or birds of prey in general?

Recommendations of the Day - Sunday Evening in Your Room

Book: Dead Wednesday by Jerry Spinelli - I believe this is technically aimed at ages 8-12 but feels a bit more YA? Light, clean romance and like one or two minor swears (perfect if romance and swears aren't something you're too comfy with in a book but you're looking for something a bit more mature than your typical children's book). Explores life and makes you think, sort of bittersweet and a very quickly read, taking course only over one day.

Song: Bubblegum by Clairo - quiet, feels almost timid? It's a little sad but mostly just a calm gentle song to enjoy on a Sunday night when you're in your room by yourself replaying a conversation you had two years ago in your head~

Explore the CB by trying: ski-lodges. There's so many great ski-lodges you can read Check out Artemis' ski-lodge (which I have yet to read but will get around to soon, it looks so good!), Morning and NerdFace's (again, I have yet to read it but it looks so good Ah I need to get a life and read these awesome ski-lodges), and I believe there's a thread a few pages back in DtE with links to some other ones :)

Be kind to others: send a text to someone you love (family member of friend) and tell them one thing you appreciate about them

Be kind to yourself: take a warm bath and listen to some nice calm music, it's been a long week and we are about to start a new one so you should take a break

And that's it for today! Love you all <3

Late-night Thought dump:

Funny how enough physical distance can keep one life from being another. As far as I'm concerned, time has never played as much a factor in my fading memories as space itself has. Strangest thing is, whenever you return, everything comes slamming back, crashing into your mind so hard that you almost start to wonder if everthing you've experienced in the meantime was nothing but an especially detailed dream or movie.

Sleeping is never exactly satisfying for me. It feels like a waste of time, precious hours you could be spending doing something productive.

Summer, especially during the deep night -- forged from a balance of heavy heat and humidity, paired with the clarity and relative quiet of darkness -- gives me such a strange, almost unnerving nostalgic feeling. I finally realised that's probably most of the reason why Heat Waves by Glass Animals hits so different for me personally, lol

Wait now that I think about it I have a really strong emotional link with night/dark hours during all the seasons except spring... I think? That's kinda weird. I was born in the Spring too so that's odd. It's kind of annoying me actually.
