Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

This is a screenshot of an excerpt of Day 2 the RMS Humbug and RMS Tiny Ski Lodge (7th most replied-to thread in Inkwell), that I can't stop laughing about...

IT'S HILARIOUS!!! I'm going to have to show it to my dad, he loves Tolkien stuff and this will probably make him laugh :) And now I'm going to check out that ski-lodge.

I have a new idea cooking. It'd probably take me some time (maybe not), but I was wondering if anybody would be interested.

So I guess I'd call it like Peri's PSAs or Peri Talks or whatever where I do research about some sort of something and then post a thread about it. And then we can talk about it for a little bit.

The first topic I'm interested in researching is burnout; a lot of CBers have expressed trouble with this issue recently. I would want to discuss recovery from burnout, how to avoid it, burnout vs. stress, that sort of thing.

I think it'd also be fun to do ones on anxiety, self care/self love and why they are both important, and things like that. I'm really excited about this idea, but I thought I probably should make sure anyone would care before I spend time and energy researching for and eventually writing this. Please let me know your opinion.

Thanks!

Hmm I wonder if this has anything to do with my burnout post on the Confessions thread a few days ago lol (thanks for commenting on that post btw Peri, you're the best <3). That sounds really great! I love a good PSA, especially when the person giving it is super passionate about the topic.

Oh my- yess that'd be amazing if you're up for it!! Thank you, Peri!! You come up with the most lovely ideas <3 But just make sure you don't get burnout yourself by raising awareness on how to combat burnout XDD (but no, seriously :) )! But this really does sound really cool- I wonder, if other CBers have ideas could we fashion a PSA after Peri's PSAs/talks/whatever too or would you rather it just be you and we give you the topic?? 'Cuz I don't want to steal your idea from you, but I would also enjoy a discussion/PSA about the importance of getting enough sleep (coughcoughyouknowwhoyouarecoughcough) (coughcoughmealso) and I'm honestly fine either way if you would want to write that or if you'd rather me write it?? But yes, I think it's a great idea and I'll definitely participate if you do it! Thank you! :D

haha, apparently Feiya wants food! She says: FOODD. Of course, the last time I fed her was... never. Eh, she can't provide for herself. Wait... but didn't LE or someone say once that captchas dine on human souls? ...

Ooh, I'd love to make a PSA about getting enough sleep! That's super important. But you can do it if you want! I don't want to steal your idea. If were to do it I would probably do it after my burnout one so not right away. Do you want to do the sleep one or should I?

I don't think it'd be fair of me to say nobody else can make PSAs lol so yeah I guess anybody can! Oh I have so many ideas -

Perfect, thanks so much! I will start the research and hopefully have it up soon; it will either take me like one day or two weeks, depending on the time and motivation I have.

And @Silver Crystal, in case the question was not rhetorical (I have trouble assessing this sometimes): yes, partially, but I don't want you to feel singled out and let me assure you I have seen (read?) others with this problem! It's very common with people our age, especially this time of year I think.

Kind of going of Peri's post here-

idk about anyone else, but when I'm really stressed/anxious, my brain likes to think about things that seem "safe". And my brain classifies "safe" things as things from my childhood. So sometimes I have fun thinking about things like Paw Patrol, Sesame Street, and My Little Pony. I also do things like coloring or playing with my stuffed animals, letting myself return to a safe space. I have an entire playlist (well, technically 2- one for regular times and another for times I'm sleepy/need softer music due to sensory issues) dedicated to this... mentality? ig? not sure what to call it haha

I don't know if anyone else has ever had any experiences like this, or if anyone is interested, but I think it's worth sharing :)

Remember that whatever you all enjoy is alright, even if it isn't "age appropriate" (in the sense you are "Too old" for it)! All that matters is that it's happiness appropriate :D

yeah I love re-reading books that're for way younger kids than me. And whenever I'm having a really bad night, I'll binge watch the Owl House or Phineas and Ferb or Bluey or some cute wholesome kids show. I actually basically only watch animated kids movies (or really long sci-fi ones XD).
