Oops! I mean the painted Desert and it is a national park in Arizona that is a desert and looks like it had been painted in red colors (I feel really stupid)

What's the Petrified Forest?? I've never heard of it! And, no, I've never been to the Painted Desert... :(:( Someday (ahem, once my dad gets a job), my family plans to do the whole south western US trip (and Mexico), since we did CO, WY, SD, and all of those states last year. :):):) Hey, you're from Colorado!!! You have an awesome state!! :):) My great aunt lives there, as do my mom's cousins (I don't remember all of their names), my mom's cousin's son Harrison (whom I just met, and it turns out that he is my only relative my age, other than dad's cousin's daughter, whom I also just met; I heard he might be visiting soon! Can't wait to see another relative my age!! :D), and my great uncle (on my dad's side) and his wife. I don't remember the towns where they live, except that my great aunt lives in Fort Collins, and I think Harrison might live in Colorado Springs. :):) Okay, here's a question: Everybuggy in Maine pronounces Colorado "Call - o - raw - doe", but I noticed that all of my relatives call it "Call - o - rahh - doe" (sorry, I'm bad at writing pronunciations...). Which is right??

I call it Call-oh-rad(as in radburger. Ever been to Red Robin? Do they have those in Maine?)-oh.

I live fairly close to Fort Collins.  I live in Ault which is about a 30 minute drive east from Fort Collins.  You pronounce Colorado Call-o-rad-oe (I'm bad at pronounciations too).

The petrified forest is were many many trees have fosilized (is that spelled right?) into crystals there are hundreds of them!  It is very cool (the painted desert and the petrified forest are in the same park so if you see one you can see the other (I prefered the Petrified Forest.)!)!

I haven't, but they sound really neat! Gosh, there

are so many places I want to travel to... I'm gonna

have to mark those down on my list (Not that I have

an actual list. I mean there isn't enough paper in

the world for that, but you get the point). ;D

Odd, everyone I know pronounces Colorado Paige's way. Maybe it's a Maine/Texas accent thing...
