I answered less than 12hrs after the question was posted. How is that too late?

So... It's technically not summer yet, but it sure feels like summer where I live. It got to like 80 degrees outside yesterday and I got a little sunburned too!!!

Anyways-I wanted to share this craft I did yesterday. So-yesterday I was helping a bunch of kids at a salmon summit thing, and we made these bracelets which help to remember the  salmon lifecycle. There were 10 beads: red, orange, black, clear, dark green, light green, silver, dark blue, animal bead, and light blue.

Each bead represented a certain part, the red was the adult spawners, orange was the eggs, black was the gravel to cover the eggs, clear to represent clean water the young salmon need, dark green for trees that fall and provide shelter, light green for shoreline plants to provide food, silver to represent the smolts (aka teenage salmon), dark blue to represent the ocean, an animal bead to represent predators, and the light blue bead to represent the cold water they would return to start the cycle over again.

The kids put their beads on a pipe cleaner and then twisted the pipe cleaner around to create a circle, to represent the cycle.

Overall, the activity was really fun, and I made one for myself too. :)

Also-I didn't have any ponytail holders on hand so I used a pipe cleaner and put some beads on it to make it look pretty and wrapped that around my hair, and it actually worked!!! #resources! :)

I'll post a couple more pictures later... because I can only post one at a time I think.

That's really cool, Joan! I like that.

I finish school in about two weeks, so I've been getting really hyped about summer, not remembering it doesn't start for another month or two. *facepalms* Right now it's 50 fahrenheit, cloudy, and wet in central NY. Yup, still spring.

Thanks Jwyn! :)

Here's another picture, this one is a picture of the makeshift ponytail holder I made out of a pipe cleaner XD

(Admins, I completely understand that the rule with photos is no people, and I also understand that this picture is borderline "no people in photos," if that makes any sense, so I completely understand if you can't post this picture.)

I hot-glued some red pom-pom trim onto the bottom of my lampshade, and I'm really happy with the result! (sorry, I don't have a picture)

This past summer when I was in sleepaway camp, my mother sent me a slime-making kit with all kinds of stuff. You mix 2 things together and then there are tons of cool stuff to add, like floam balls and beads and glitter and sparkles.

@Admins, I decorated the cover of a notebook at a party recently, but there's the first letter of my name. Can I post the picture anyway, or I should black that section out?

Just the initial is OK to show.

Nice Twirlgirl! I made this awesome galaxy slime a few days ago. No coloring, just glitter!

Whoa Jwyn that is so cool. I know someone who makes like a billion slimes, and they're all soooo yum. All different kinds, like butter and bubbly and stretchy and putty-ish ones.

Here's the notebook that we decorated. They gave out gold letters and these tissue paper circles in a ton of goregous colors like purple, pink, light and dark blue, green and silver. I decided to layer mine like a mermaid tail.
