Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hello world!  It

Hello world!  It is a beautiful rainy day, and I'm super hyped because I'm joining the Chatterbox!

Here's a little bit about me ^u^

I love poetry!  Bouncy poetry, sweet poetry, dark poetry-- I love it all.  the rhythm and the way that the language fits like a puzzle... It just makes me smile!

I really like old literature, not as much to read for the story (which is also fun, but it can be a little too dense to be immersive sometimes.  Or maybe I'm an airhead.  Or maybe both!) but because I enjoy dissecting the symbolism and talking about it.  Do you think there would be interest in a CB classics book club?  I think that would be fun!

I'm in 9th grade, and boy oh boy is it tough.  I'm trying, though!

Drawing cartoons and other stuff is my biggest hobby.  I do mostly digital, but I also doodle everywhere (my homework notes are a total mess)!  I've looked around and there are so many talented artists on here, so i'm really excited to maybe join the community!

I'm using a lot of exclamation points right now-- I swear I don't always do that, I'm just excited to be here!

Okie dokie, that's me!  Thanks for reading!

Hugs!

Hi Icy, wow you've been on here for a while!  I'm also a big theatre nerd, what are some of your favorite musicals?  Mine are West Side Story, Wicked, and Annie Get Your Gun.

Hi, Bubblegum! How are you? On the Inkwell, I call myself Jithkeeper, everywhere else, Spiffycat. Jith is my fantasy world. I love writing, making worlds, and art, and in my class we've made comics for science and history: one for the circulatory system and one for the Wars of Roses. I also used to do a little cartooning with these characters I call Richard and Sunglasses, but I haven't in a while. The plots were really bad; in fact I don't theink they existed. I should start again.

I love doodling - especially cities - but what I mostly draw are DRAGONS. I'm obsessed.

About Poetry - I don't really read that much, but there are some  poems that I absolutely LOVE, and they're in this book called Ring of Earth, where there's a poem for winter (weasel) a poem for spring (frog) one for summer (my favorite, dragonfly) and one for fall (geese, of course). It's a very cool and unique book.

I really like trying to read "classics" too, though all I can really get through is Dickens, Dickens, and more Dickens. Ha.

Peace out,

Have some lemonade,

Dragons rule,

Spiffycat/Jithkeeper

Hello Spiffycat, I'm doing well!  How are you?  That's so neat that you have a fantasy world.  I've tried to build one before, but I never got anywhere.  How long have you been working on Jith?

I've found that Mark Twain is usually an easy enough read (as far as classics go), and they're also usually tremendously funny!

Hmm maybe a year and a half? I've had other ones in the past which all sort of melded into Jith, so it's hard to tell. Originally I shared it with a friend, but then we changed it and it's ALL MINE NOW.

Also - I have read some Mark Twain, and it's good.

BTW, a lot of the weird things you might see in my "Location" box are places in Jith.

Welcome to the CB, Bubblegum!

I like poetry too, but I find I don't like novels in verse as much as plain poetry. I did like this one called Enchanted Air, though. What do you think of novels in verse?

Hello, welcome to the CB!

I guess you could say I'm new? Not really. I'm actually  pretty much a full time Kyngdomer, although I've finally started to join the rest of the CB. Basically nobody on the CB really knows I exist, though.

I love drawing! I do a lot of digital art, but I think traditional art is fun too. I like to make comics, but I have a tendency to make them pretty depressing or weird. I have a very bad habit of doodling over absolutely everything, from napkins to my World Cultures textbook and once I even drew all over my water bottle with a sharpie, heh.

I love poetry! I like it because of everything you can say with so little words in a poem. I really like all the emotions in poetry.

I really like writing in general. I've tried to write a few novels, but I always try to write multiple ones at the same time and I never end up finishing anything.

I actually really enjoy baking. I've made alot--jello cakes, cupcakes, even a pie once... There's just so much love that you put into baking, it makes me all happy and fuzzy inside.

Hi Bubblegum!

I'm Dandelion, lover of photgraphy, books, science, and the outdoors. I love drawing, writing, dancing and reading random blogs, and animals. I don't have any pets right now, but I would love to get a dog. Do you have any pets?

Poetry is nice too. I really like more abstract/free verse poems. Mostly I write my own poems, though.

Welcome to the CB!

Hi, as you already know from another thread I'm new too (I was just to shy to make a thread to introduce myself properly like you did :) Anyway, I was wondring if you like poetic narative. Have you heard of Jason Reynolds? He wrote this poetic narative called A Long Way Down, it's really good. Also, a classics book group sounds great. Have you read any Jane Austen?

Hello, Bubblegum, it's nice to meet you! I'm Soren, and I agree with you that poetry is awesome. Unfortunately, I'm not a very good poet myself. XP I hope you like the Chatterbox!
