STATE FAIR!!!!!!!! I

STATE FAIR!!!!!!!! I went to the MN one yesterday...have any of you guys gone to your state fairs?

I went to the Illinois State Fair twice this year. It was awesome. I loved watching the equestrian events and walking through the huge cow barn. It was so calm and peaceful in there, in contrast to the crowded walkways outside by all the rides and food stands.

I went to the cow barn too, Admin! And the pig barn, and horse barn! But there weren't a lot of horses when we were there because they were walking. But we saw a few! And the ones that are really pretty with braided hair and shiny metal. We also got lots of food. My favorite is cheese on the stick, I LOVE THOSE! My cousin got a meatballl on a stick, and my mom found this really good stuff that is potatos with cheese! BUt it's not on a stick...oh well! And later we found the BEST turkey sandwiches! YUM! And while we were eating, this deaf guy came and started doing sign language. Hehe, he must have seen my hearing aids. I didn't know all of the sign language he did, but I got some of it! I guess I really am learning pretty well. Oh, and once we were walking around, and I heard a Taylor Swift song being played (You Belong with Me) and I started signing it and my mom was like, "She knows all the words!" It was funny!

Yum, all that food sounds delicious!

My family goes to the Iowa State Fair every other year, and this was an on year. It was a lot of fun! The first thing we did when we got there was buy two funnel cakes. With my family of 9, we ate them in about 90 seconds (We fed them to our 1-year-old, who then wanted some of everyone else's!). Then we went to all of the barns (horse, cow, pig, sheep) except for the chicken barn. When we came out of the last barn, we were next to the Giant Slide and we went down that. We all thought is was very awesome, but my 5-year-old sister did not. Then we were hungry, so we bought some corn dogs and soft pretzels -and my dad got an Italian sausage-and ate it watching the Bill Riley Talent Search, which is basically performing kids. It was pretty cool, except that there was this sister pair who did a tap duet and were exactly synchronized the whole time, and that was cool but creepy. After the talent show we went to this building where they are making a huge electric train track, and we went to see it two years ago, too, and the people are still working on it! My dad wanted to see the harmonica contest (he plays the harmonica and we always want him to enter, cause he's fairly good, but he won't), so we walked and walked until we got there. We were very glad when we finally got to the barn place where it was, because they sell fresh real lemonade there. In the harmonica building there were also an old-fashioned blacksmith and carpenter. I like to watch the blacksmith. Then we went on the Sky Glider, which is pretty much just a colorful ski lift that goes across the fair above everyone's heads. At the end, we got milkshakes and then went to the animal learning barn where there were baby ducks. They were extremely cute. By then it was getting late in the afternoon, and we were very tired after walking all over the place, so we bought some kettle corn to take home, walked and walked some more through the parking lot, got in our very large van, and drove home.

Sorry for the length Admin!

Yeah, I went to the state fair. They took away the big roller coaster this year :( and replaced it with a new extreme ride that I will no way go on. I also discovered that lemonade from powder and lemonade from lemons taste exactly alike.  Also, I quote my dad, The most popular ride at the fair (and the scariest) was the bathroom (judging by the lines).

But I found how much I love Funnel Cake!!!
