Well, now, actually, I am rarely schooled.  We mostly stick with unschooling.  Don't get me wrong, I'm smart, but I am smart in things that matter most in this world, how to live a life of meaning.

I am, but sort of like Laura. The only thing I'm required to do each day is math.

I was homeschooled for one year, in fifth grade. I loved it. But my dad had a lot of traveling to do so it wasn't feasible to do that for more than one year.

I am definitely homeschooled. Do you like it? I do....sometimes.

@ Elizabeth: I do like it. Except when other kids in school don't have to do school on some random day and we do (grr). I completely and totally dislike math!!!!!!! But I love my American History this year, I also love grammar, handwriting, spelling, and some types of science. What subjects do you guys like?

Oh, I definitely hate math! And science and English, and writing reports. I have to write at least one a week, sometimes two, and once it was three!

I am, but I am not unschooled. And, truth be told, I don't want to be. I intend to cause no controversy on this issue, but I am of the opinion that we're in school because we need to learn, and, in general, most kids are not capable of knowing what they need to learn and teaching themselves on self-motivation only. My brother has narrowed down the carreer field he wants, and he is educating himself in it, but in his own time, and my parents still require him to take things like chemistry and world history, no matter that he's not going to need them in the field of film making and graphic design. It's part of having a well rounded education - learning what you don't particularly want to and things you think you won't need, because no young person can be completely aware of what lies ahead in his life and no knowledge goes wasted.

Ok, sorry about that.  Yeah, I'm homeschooled, and I have a particularly arduous government test, so I'd better go away. :P

Hey, I totally agree, but I do it, as you said about your brother, in my own time.  I don't plan on stopping learning when I get out of collage, I want to learn things my whole life.  When I need to know something, I learn it.  I'll admit that I don't always have the time to learn something before I need to know it, but so far I seem to be doing pretty well.  I don't think that just because I don't follow the strict rules set out for learning, I'm not learning the things I need to know.

I've learned so much in my life, and I know there's still a lot out there that I should know, but I'm not worried.  My life is taking me exactly where I want to go.  I'm happy, and that's all that matters right now.

I am and I LOVE it. I have to do school five days a week, and I do Algebra, math, english, history, science, spelling, vocabulary, reading, religion, music, and art every day. Today is the last day of the last week of the first quarter of school, so I've had a bunch of tests. I'm working on a State History paragraph just now, so gotta go!

Sorry, I meant that Algebra is my math. They're not two seperate subjects.

Mary, isn't it funny that we're both 13, live in Georgia, and both go onto Cricket? Too bad we don't have the same name. Now THAT would be really cool.

I'm homeschooled!  :)  I really do love it!  I have a feeling I wouldn't fit in very well at public school... I'm not going to starts that again.  But it is really a great opportunity.  :) *cheers* For homeschool!
